Adventure Setup in Pathfinder

Dragon and Dungeon Transition Discussion

If the adventures in Pathfinder will run from 1st to 15th, will the adventures still be broken or seperated by level ranges?

One of the cool things about Dungeon was the ability to just use one adventure with a few alterations. I could drop one in for a side trek or use it as part of on ongoing campaign of my own.

Sorry. I misunderstood something I read earlier.

I am now under the impression that each issue will only contain a level range of a few levels (the first being 1st through 3rd).

Each adventure in Pathfiner will be about 50 pages long, and will contain enough adventure to generally raise PCs about 3 levels. That said, none of the adventures are going to be focused on a single site, really; there'll be lots of elements you can pull out and run as a side trek, if you want. Similarly to how you can, for example, run the Parrot Island section of "There is no Honor" as a single adventure, or the Sodden Hold section of "Hall of Harsh Reflections."

sweet!

Although I happy for Pathfinder, I really am not intersted in a
main focus Adventure mag at $20.oo US each month. I much perfer
the Dragon resource mag. Now if pathfinder was a resorce focus
primary at $20.oo each I would be more inclinded to pursue it.

It has been stated that the magazine will be about 50/50 with resource focus and adventure focus.

In effect combining the elements of both Dungeon and Dragon magazines into a single publication.

Having never used Dungeon magazine before, I am still giving Pathfinder a shot to see if I think it is wort the expense, I may even find I enjoy the adventure parts as well.

At the very least I think readers could pick up at least one copy to see for themselves what they may or may not glean from the publication.

Just my $0.02

I used to get Dungeon magazine to hold me over between Dragon magazines. But somewhere along the way, that flip-flopped. Now I get Dragon to hold me over until the next Dungeon.

I used to want more crunch, but after reading Dungeon more and more, I began finding more inspiration in Dungeon's adventures than in Dragon's crunchy bits.

Pathfinder will marry to two perfectly, I think. It will have plenty of crunch that you can walk away with. But that crunch will also, directly or indirectly, relate to the adventure, making the crunch all that much more interesting and valuable. Way to go Paizo!

You know, I hadn't thought of it like that before but the Midrealm DM's post put it perfectly: Pathfinder is a combination of Dragon and Dungeon. That seems to have gelled it in my mind ... and made the cost a little more logical.
