OK here we are.
Some recent background to get you guys into place:
Wulfdayn and Arik:
Dantis:
Recently, a ship has come in from the southern continent. Rumors tell that a number of the savages that inhabit that land have been captured, and are expected to sell well as slaves and fight in the colloseum. They are not expected to survive. This is a new custom in Akkadian lands, in reaction to the ever-increasing foreign attacks.
Davos:
You hear a rumor that one of those captured practices the bizzare mystic magic of the natives here, and thus has been housed in the anti-magic cells.
Lucien:
As you move through the city and try not to be captured by its odd cleaness and geometric spleandor and opression, you hear snippets of conversation concerning some captives from the southern lands. The Hathir are not unknown to you, for they often make trips into the territories of their cousin tribes the Jotnir, and once some Hathir traders helped you escape a scouting party from a group similar to the one that ran the monestary.
That sould do it. So, what do you do?

DM Dirk Gently |

Oh, and I'll be a little inconsistant with my posting times - I'm going to be in Europe for the next week and won't always have access to a computor, but I figure that this will just allow you some more time to make your first desisions and have some inter-player conversations. Please bear with me.
Also-you are rewarded for RP.

Dantis Aern |

Where is everyone else? How do we meet up? I should also note that when I am in the company of one of the tall folk I hide my weapons and armor under my cloak and pass as a child.
I am walking through a marketplace, looking at the wares that are available and picking a few pockets as I go.
What kind of stuff would be available in a marketplace? Can I make a Spot check to find someone who would be particularly easy to perform a little sleight of hand on? I don't want to pick the pocket of anyone who appears well armed or perceptive.
If applicable Spot check 22 (17+5). If not applicable I pick the pockets of the nearest person who appears unarmed and weak.
Sleight of Hand 19 (14+5)

Lucien Naiilo the Marked |

Arctaris, do you always play halflings?
Anyway,
Lucien is completely disgusted with the city.
He mutters to himself as he strides through the streets of Zhen-to, the pedestrians giving him a wide berth*.
"Why did I come here. With bastions of decadence and crime like this one, it's a small wonder Tenma hasn't spread his influence throughout Amahra. And they call the Jotnir barbarians..."
*Note: Lucien's appearance:
Lucien Naiilo, known throughout Amahra by various names (the Wanderer, the Marked One, Oath-Breaker, and others) cuts a striking figure.
Standing well over six feet tall, his Elven heritage is clearly evident in his pointed ears and odd-colored (one brown, one a rather unnatural shade of azure), almond-shaped eyes. Lucien's sallow skin, pulled taut over ropy muscles, is covered in small brands, which for anyone who can read Abyssal read 'Oath-Breaker'. He also sports several facial scars, including a large, crescent-shaped one that cuts across the bridge of his nose and down his left cheek, as well as a trio of jagged lines that are barely hidden by his shoulder-length, braided blue-black hair.
Lucien wears a suit of patchworked leather adorned with feathers, colored stones, and animal bones, and also wears a long, white, hooded cloak. He carries a giant stone-headed flail with a handle made from the shank-bone of a dire wolf. Around Lucien's waist is a thick leather belt with twelve heavily carved coyote thighbones dangling from it (this serves as his spellbook).
Whene Lucien speaks, it sounds like the thunder of an approaching sandstorm. Although he appears ragged, even frightening, he carries himself with the bearing of a king, and scorns those who underestimate him based on his strange appearance.

Yup, i remember that Lucian...scary Lucain hahaha

Dantis Aern |

I almost always play a halfling, usually sneaky and/or charismatic thief/con artists. Sometimes I play a half-elven spellcaster for a change of pace.
I should probably describe myself.
Dantis is a halfling, about three feet in height with short brown hair. He is dressed in nondescript clothing and has the sort of face that is forgotten almost as soon as it is seen.

Arik Tenthous |

Arik sits on the ground of the ceil, "Damn, firsthe mummbles to himself and now its this! Why must luck not work for me."
Describtion of Arik:
Arik wears no armor, only woolen clothes that he was made in his clan, his face is pale, but dirt covers his face. With him he has a horn which was given to him by his clan. He carrys a pack with him always but i have a feeling that it was taken away?including his horn.

Wulfdayn Gart'th |

Depending on how thoroughly we've been held captive and transported to this city, I will attempt to make mental notes of as much as I can regarding my surroundings; I am basing such observations on the assumption that I wasn't blindfolded or unconscious at the time of arrival.
Basically, if I am able, I take in whatever I am allowed to see by my captors, as we are (presumably) led through the city on the way to our cells. Most notably, I will attempt to keep track of the visual cues of the city's combat capabilities, such as how frequently guards or soldiers pass by, in what numbers, and what kind of equipment they carry. To my escort(s), I will try a little intimidation a few of the guards/soldiers, to get a feel for how they react-- for example, do they carry themselves like hardened warriors, or do they seem nervous and wary?
Spot check (unskilled): 17 (roll) + 1 wisdom bonus = 18
Intimidate check: 11 (roll) + 6 skill ranks + +4 strength bonus = 21
Am I alone in my cell, or sharing with Arik? Aside from the attempts to intimidate, I will speak to no one except Arik if he is present, and only when prying ears are not around. I will be silent otherwise, for the time being.
Description of Wulfdayn:
Average height, in his early 30s'. His body is gaunt and hard from unforgiving weeks spent roaming the wilderness for game. Bears multiple noticeable scars across his body from combat and some hunts gone awry.
shoulder-length, very unkempt dirty reddish-brown hair that is pulled into a tail. Normally wears thick hides and thicker fur winter clothes, but is currently left with whatever his captors allowed him to keep.

Davos Quaith |

Naturaly I want to see this strange magic myself
A tall, dark haired human walks down the hallway toward the anti-magic cells. He is wearing worn, but well made dark blue traveling clothes and a grey cloak (if the weather is cold I'm also wearing a heavy grey parka). He is wearing a dagger and a wand on his belt and carries a pack across his back. A black raven sits on his shoulder. He stops just out of sight of the gaurds and waves his hands in tight circles while muttering in a strange language just above a whisper.
Casts Detect Magic as wizard
He continues on down the hall, stopping in front of the gard.
Spot Check: roll 15 + 3 WIS = 18
How many gaurds are there in the area? What is the layout of the cells? Does the anti-magic effect block my spells if I am not in a cell?
"I'm interested in buying a slave and I wish to inspect the selection."
"Quork, buy a slave!" repeats the raven.
Diplomacy Check: roll 5 + 1 CHA = 6
Concentration Check to keep Detect Magic operating: roll 18 + 6 ranks + 1 CON = 25

Dantis Aern |

As I stealthily reach for the purse of the man in front of me he steps away just before I can snatch his moneybag.
If he succeeds on his spot check then disregard the rest of this post.
Annoyed I look around and see another person nearby who looks like he might be a viable target. I slip through the crowd and manage to snatch his purse as he walks by me.
Sleight of Hand 21 (16+5). How much do I find in his purse? Does he notice me?

DM Dirk Gently |

Do I know where the prisoners are being held?
Yes, you glean this information from some conversations. It is relatively nearby. As you move through the crowd, you are now right in front of the cell block, you feel a hand at your purse.
Daris, you realize you have chosen a poor candidate for your theivery as you prey turns to look at you.

DM Dirk Gently |

Davos, there are two guards in the antechamber before the main cells.
They look at you aprehensively for a moment, and then open the door to inside. "Take whatever time you need," one says. "But I garuntee that this batch is going strait to the colloseum -- they smell. You'll excuse us if we stay out here to avoid their offensive stench."
When you enter the prison chamber, you see that there are a number of cells along the back wall, sort of Planet of the Apes style. Only one is occupied, and you can feel the energy eminating from a sideroom that serves as the antimagic block. One of these three cells is also occupied. The antimagic field only encompasses the three cells of the block and not any of the rest of the room.

DM Dirk Gently |

Arik and Wulfdayn, you did see that much of the Akkadian army is generally bored and not well equiped as you get closer to the cities. You were brought into the city in chais, so you do know the way between your cell and the docks.
After a single night, an Akkadian enters the cell block.
PS: there is a difference between "High Akkadian" and the different tribal languages and the "tradespeak" aka common. I assume you all know the latter.

Davos Quaith |

Davos steppes into the cell block. "The guards were right, they reek," he mutters under his breath.
"Quork, They reek!" repeats the raven rather loudly. Davos glares at the raven for a moment before heading two the anti-magic side room. Davos takes in the dirty, smelly cells and sees the prisoner.
Who’s in the anti-magic cells, I only read the spoiler with my name on it.
"Hey, I need to speak to you," he whispers so the guards will not hear.
If the prisoner responds, Davos asks the following questions:
Who are you?
Where are you from?
What type of spell caster are you?
Concentration check to keep Detect Magic going (if it hasn't already expired, it lasts 1 minute): roll 17 + ranks 6 + CON 1 = 24
A note on my characters alignment. Even though I am LN, my quest for knowledge overrides my lawful tendencies. I would be willing to break the law to gain knowledge (within reason, I would not break a major law to learn something trivial).

Wulfdayn Gart'th |

Should I presume that I am held in the "normal" cell, and Arik in the antimagic cell to silence his bardic abilities?
I'll keep a wary eye on the Akkadian who has entered the cellblock, and try to size him up. If he (or anyone) speaks to me, I will respond in my native language-- even if I understand them clearly and fully. I will only deign to speak Common to those I don't consider an enemy, or unless I have to.

Arik replys, " Hello there...stranger, for an akkidan you look funny. If you must know who i am..." Arik pauses. "I am Arik the Bard and that is all you need to know, stranger." Arik gets up from the ground holding on the bars of his ceil. "This place... it makes people insane, they treat us like kolbolts in here. Arik looks at the raven, "mmmmmm... hello birdy." Arik jumps stumping on the ground, "They took my horn, i need it now." Arik finally calms himself down sitting back on the ground, "Sorry about stranger...well i told you my name what is yours?"

You see that the prisoners' gear is on a table across the cell block.

Arik begins to speak to Wulfdayn in the tongue that only Wulfdayn will only understand. " This could be the chance to be free friend, free at last i just was testing him to see if we Thathir are too "scary" to him. Lets just hope we will be able to escape, even if it is a conseqence is to apear." Arik then looks at the akkadian smiles, then walks toward the middle of the ceil.

I nod at Arik, and reply in our native tongue so that only we might understand.
"Yes, I agree. He may very well suit our needs...at least for the time being. But he is still Akkadian-- we must watch him closely. Do not let your guard down."

Davos Quaith |

"OK, I'm going to try to get you out, and your friend also."
Davos pulls a black, leather bound book out of his pack, sits down and starts reading.
Loosing Magic Missle to prepare Charm Person. This takes 15 minutes. If a guard comes in, I tell him I am preparing a spell to ascertain the slaves physical condition. I don't want him to die on me right after we leave.
Bluff check: roll 12 + 1 CHA = 13
Then I cast Charm Person on the guard.
If the guard doesn't come poking around, I call him into the room, ready the spell, and cast it on him as he enters.
After fifteen minuets, Davos stands up and calls the guard. "Guard, could you come here for a moment please?"
Davos the begins to wave his hands and mumble strange words, finishing just as the guard enters the room.
"Can you please unlock the cells so I may take these slaves to the purchase office?"
CHA check: roll 7 + 1 = 8
If he unlocks the cells:
"Thank you very much, you've been very helpful. I'll make sure to mention your service to your employer."

Wulfdayn Gart'th |

Arik says nothing, looks at the guard, then at the bird then at the akkadian. He tries to see what this akkaidan he and what magic he "plans" to use, Knowledge Arcana 7+3=10{i don't think i needed to do that but what the heck i did it any way.
Wulfdayn stands in his cell, watching the activity as best he can with concern. Although he does not show it, his muscles are tense, and ready to spring into action should the chance present itself.
His breathing becomes deeper, and his heart rate increases as his body prepares itself against his conscious will. For some reason, he gets the feeling trouble is brewing...
Although he looks like he's just standing around, Wulf's reflexes more prepared than he seems. He's going to just Ready himself in case something goes wrong and he needs to rush the guards. But he will ONLY do so if this Akkadian stranger seems to betray them, or if his spellcasting fails. Wulf by no means wants to start an unnecessary fight in a such a highly disadvantageous position as the middle of a jail.

Lucien Naiilo the Marked |

I begin to dash away from my target.
I am going to run as a full round action.
Lucien sees the half-sized pickpocket begin to sprint away, and follows suit, silently loping towards the small figure, his long legs easily covering the ground.
Lucien also Runs as a full-round action.
DM Dirk Gently |

Will save DC for Charm Person is 14 (10+spell level 1+ INT 3)
The guard becomes VERY malleable and opens the cells. Then leaves, Charm Person still won't make him stay in the unwashed and smelly room. Whats the duration on that?
Arik, you see that the guard appears to be charmed. You have no idea what the Akkadian might do next.

DM Dirk Gently |

I begin to dash away from my target.
I am going to run as a full round action.
The closest area that would provide cover is a low building. You may wish to avoid running through the crowd as it may provide a barrier, and there are a few city guards nearby.
If you decide to go in, you see two guards in a sort of antechamber, one of them is half in a daze, the other is alert and looks directly at you.
"This is no place for children," he (would) says.
Do you take this course of action? It's ok if you don't, I just wanted to speed things up if this is your direction.

Davos Quaith |

1 hour per caster level, so one hour
"Ok grab your gear and let's go. Remember to play along and act like my slaves."
If Wulfdayn doesn't have a weapon:
Davos pulls out his dagger and offers it hilt first to big man with the scars. "Just in case," he says, "keep it out of sight."
Davos walks through the door and nearly runs into a halfling who seems to be in a hurry.
I just reread the section in the PHB about preping wizard spells. Turns out that I can't loose a spell to prep another. If I had unfilled slots, I could prep Charm Person. If Dirk allows it, cool. But if not then I pull out a flask of acid and use it on the lock or hinges to open the cells.

Dantis Aern |

I do go that way
I look up at the guard and say in a whiney small child's voice "Please, help me sir. A friend of mine father's is in there and I don't knoe where my fatehr is and that big man over there (pointing at Lucien) looks like hes chasing me. Help me? Please let me in. My father's friend will know what to do. I'll be safe with him. Please?". All the while I continue to snuffle pathetically and tears brim in my eyes.
[ooc]By the way, my clothes and cloak hide my weapons and armor. Disguise 17 (14+3), Bluff 16 (12+4), Perform (Act) 19 (17+2). Does the guard see through my disguise.

Arik Tenthous |

"My name is Davos, and I'm no supporter of slavery. I have a need to leave Akkadian territory and must admit I would be quite lost in the wilderness alone. Let's get out of here before the guards catch on."
"Very well Davo, i guess you must be different from them, Akkadans." Arik finishes packing his items away, "Ok then we are off." Arik looks back at this friend, Wulfdayn " Wulfdayn, i guess we are not fighting today in the pits." Arik laughts to himself knowing it wasn't funny at all

Maybe he's different, maybe not. Wulfdayn thinks to himself. We shall soon see!
To Arik, "Yes, I fear the Akkadian-tainted mongrels shall be lacking entertainment for a few evenings more. Though I almost regret not being able to skin a few of them."

Just as Dantis finishes his act, Lucien catches up with him.
"That's no child! It's a halfling, and he tried to steal from me!" shouts Lucien.

DM Dirk Gently |

Just as you enter, Lucien (and Dantis make's his statement), an Akkadian and his "slaves" exit the chamber beyond the door. The one charmed guard is fixed on dealing with the immediate pressence of the "child", but the other turns to you, Davos, and says: "Hey! You can't just walk out of here with those!"
I'll let the Charm go for now, but from now on post your prepared spells on a day-to-day (game-wise) basis. That goes for Lucien too.
Guard's reaction to Lucien and Dantis pending checks from both (bluff for Dantis, Diplomacy from Lucien).

Davos Quaith |

"It's ok, I'm going to buy these slaves," says Davos in as friendly a manner as possible.
Diplomacy check: roll 14 + CHA 1 = 15
Davos knows his luck is running out so he pulls his Wand of Magic Missle from his belt and takes a step toward the Charmed guard.
Sorry about the mistake
Preped Spells for the rest of the Day:
Cleric:
Detect Poison
Gidance
Light
Virtue
Bless
Remove Fear
Shield of Faith
Detect Secret Doors
Wizard:
Ray of Frost (twice)
Mage Armor
Initiative if combat breaks out = 19

Wulfdayn Gart'th |

Trouble's brewing, and Wulfdayn makes himself ready for it. He makes no moves that could be interpreted as hostile, but adjusts his footing and stance to be able to react quickly in case someone starts swinging.
He divides his attention as best he can, with a particularly suspicious eye on the "child," who seems to be deceptively overlooked in all this.
He is reminded of an old saying his father taught him long ago: Sometimes the smallest blade cuts deepest.
If combat breaks out, he'll watch Arik's back and try to subdue the guard. He won't kill the guard unless he absolutely has to-- having a murder wrap in enemy territory is not something that strikes him as a good idea. He'll watch Davos' back as well, as he finds the wizard useful for the time being. But if it comes down to a choice between Akkadian or Hathir, the decision is a given.
Initiative in case of combat: 16

Arik Tenthous |

Arik looks at the guard, pulls out his horn "I must tell you good Akkadan he did buy us as slaves. We would be prove to serve him and he payed the sum, we do not wish you can trouble sir." Arik slowly blowa his horn, (fascinate)- first a perform check 14+9=23,then the guard must make a will save, his Check result has to be the DC for each affected creature(I can have up to 3 people fascinated) he would then get s -4 made on reactions (Listen,Spot)Any potential threats requires Arik to make perform check, ANYONE WHO DRAWS A SWORD,CATIGN SPELLS,RANGED ATTACKS WILL RUIN THE EFFECT!!!!! if guard fails will save, he sits quietly listening, taking no other actions
If his will save is good, then S@~$!!!!! Arik can't facinate the same creature for 24 hrs. If the guards will fails then Arik concentrates and keeps performing saying to the the people near the guard, stareing at them giving then the signal to go and Arik will catch up with them later. If Guard makes will save then Arik puts away his horn and readys his rapier.
