Last Core Beliefs binge?

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I know that Hextor is coming up in Dragon #356, but aside from that... any chance the folks at Paizo will give us a Core Beliefs binge for the mag's final issues? I know this is unlikely, but one can hope...

For what it's worth, my votes would go to St. Cuthbert, Nerull, Fharlanghn, Obad-Hai, Kord, Erythnul, Ehlonna, Gruumsh, followed by the demi-human deities... in that order.

Pleeeeeaaaassse publish as many as you can before the end... and if you require it, then I am glad to grant you my permission (as a subscriber) to fill the last issues with just Core Beliefs articles! ;-)

St. Cuthbert was slated to be next (after Hextor), if I'm not mistaken. I was really looking forward to that one. Will it make the cut?

Liberty's Edge

Can St. Cuthbert be considered closed content? He was a real guy, just like Rasputin or Yogi Barra.

Silver Crusade

Fharlanghn

that would be nice, epically with the latest info in Savage Tide regarding that deity.

then again Nerull would be too, as I had a cleric that tattooed a skeleton over his body, when I had that character, one of my more memorable characters I've played (ha ha)

RM

Would very much like to see those in the final issues.

I agree. I would be totally content to see as many Core Beliefs articles as possible in the remaining issues of Dragon. Even if that's all you have room for. :-D

Yeah...*sigh* desparately hoping to get at least some of the rest of these articles. It's a last chance opportunity, really and it'd be a shame to not get as many of these as possible.

Oh hells yeah. I LOVED these articles, and I can't wait to see what they did for Hextor.

sure anybody could do a write up of St. Cuthbert as a medieval british monk... but if you make him a god of common sense/retribution that likes to smack unbelievers upside the head with a cudgel, now that is something different entirly... and that version of Cuthy is WotC IP.

I'll agree on a Core Belief's rush.

The articles have done their job so far, as far as I'm concerned. They make me want to play followers of the deities.

If I lose my battle sorcerer tonight :-( I'm either going to play a half-vamipre Duskblade of Wee Jas, or an Aasimar Cleric (or Paladin) of Herionious.

Neither concept would have been likely w/o the Core Faiths articles.

Oh and Kudos to the artist who drew the cleric w/battle axe. That's what 'caught' me. That and Sean's writing makes me think of a Paladin talking like Lee Emery:

] "What is your major malfunction, you low level priest! This is how you battle undead! Do we need to send you back to the temple so your mommy can cast lesser restoration on you? Suck it up soldier! They're only Specters!" [/QUOTE wrote:

I'll add my voice to this. Some of the best, and most needed, articles i've read in your mags.

Rest assured, friends, that Core Beliefs and Demonomicon are among our favorite semi-regular series as well.

Need I say more? ^_^

Sweet. :-D

interesting. :D

Demonomicon, detailing non-core D&D demons could be pretty cool indeed.

Core Beleifs could be done fairly similarly to the way it has been, if there is OGL info on the main D&D deities; unless you're talking about the gods from the new setting?

Demonomicon

Ever since playing Blood Wars (CCG) I loved the Dark Lords.

Yes I got some content on Grazzt in Demonweb Pits and the Hordes But more would not be over kill since he is my favorite.

How about Orcus? Since there has been so much in the past with him from H4 Throne of Bloodstone to Dead Gods (for planescape)

For the Core Beliefs

I stopped playing Oreth (Greyhawk) for many decades so its not a major benefit on this information. However with that said I can take the information and convert it to my Realms gods. Like Pelor takes the place of the major healing force in the Realms (can't remember which I use so I will not state it).

Nani?

Well, we're certainly going to write about our deities and evil outsiders in Pathfinder, but I'm talking about Dragon here. There's still three issues left, you know! ;P

I'd love to see a Demonomicon issue and a Core Beliefs issue, but I'm not sure it's fair to make James and Sean each write an entire issue themselves. ;)

Ah man, now I am really depressed... no more Core Beliefs... also know as "What Deities and Demigods SHOULD have been" and no more Demonomicon... *sigh* great... just great...

Ah, but who said life is fair? Time to crack the whip... ;-)

oh well, of course... even though the body's not cold just yet, i guess a lot of us have already been thinking we're at the funeral. ;)

no, still, i'm absolutely psyched to see what's coming up in the remaining months!

It's almost 2am here and I just spent almost 5 minutes laughing and crying at that...

probably because it was almost 2 am. :D

I'm lucky in that out of the three deities I truly wanted to see articles on, two have been done (Wee-Jas in 350, and Hextor in 356). I'm really, really, REALLY hoping that Kord will get featured in one of the remaining issues.

I found the Core Beliefs articles to be some of THE best content Dragon has ever done. I will be sad to see the end of them. Will we get one last hurrah?
