Sometime through adventure 4, I'm planning on showing the PrC to the barbarian's player. However, one change I want to make is exchange the spellcasting abilities for continued advancement in rage abilities.
I'm planning on running Torrents of Dread (114) just before the end of part 4. If the player's interested, then after resolving Torrents, the barbarian can undergo the ceremony then.
(Sorry if part of that was a bit vague, but I'm trying to avoid spoilers.)

I've got an Olman Ranger/Deepwood Sniper who has a particular interest in combating demons (she's got an arrow Demon posessing her, but it's been content to ride for now) so this PRC is going to be perfect for her.
I do agree that a "variant" demonslayer for other abilities would be nice, such as Rage, Primary spellcasters, Monk Speed and Unarmed Damage, sneak attack, etc.
I'll see if I can't rustle up some decent variants. Anyone else want to take a shot?

The class is a little overpowered, especially when compared to the events of the ongoing adventure path; thats the entire point. I beleive James actually mentioned that the PRCs for the Adventure Paths are noticably good to make taking them more attractive. Which makes sense to me, most players have very defined ideas of where their characters are going; some are vague, some are detailed to the last decimal, but very few players play a completely reactive approach to levelling. Im not saying that isn't fun or doesn't happen, but most people know fully "organic" levelling results in generally weaker characters.
Also, lets consider that Design Philosophy has changed to account for high level competitiveness: a PRC means sacrificing several of your higher level abilities. In the Core Rules, the base 11 classes don't have that many truly cool high level abilities, with the exception of casters, who can generally maintain their spells via PRCs. But newer base classes have high level abilities that make PRCing a very difficult choice between unique PRC abilities, and the powerful level 16-20 abilities.
Within Savage Tide, a Totemic Demonslayer will rock some socks. I may end up with not one but TWO in my game. Outside of Savage Tide, it would be a solid choice for any demon hunting type, but certainly not for everyone.
EDIT Office Ninja, its a PRC specifically for the Savage Tide path detailed in the April Issue of Dragon Magazine. The one with the Modrons.
