That looks very good! I don't think I would have built mine on a base but the whoever designed that is very talented!

The WotC Modeling boards support the [img][/img] tag. Simply host your image with some online service (like Photobucket), then put the http address of the photo between the [img] tags.
I believe the OP in that thread used sculpy to craft it. As for basing the thing, those is a forum for D&D Minis (the brand). It only makes sense that folks posting over there would use a D&D Mini base for their homemade stuff.

Those of you who like minis what are you using for Aboleths in the STAP? I'm thinking about taking a shot at it with sculpy...
I used sculpey and wire and copied it from the MM art. The wire was for the tentacles which were added after the baking. If you use sculpey use a lower temperature than what the package says(375)-I placed it about 250 for the body about 10 minutes. about 2 minutes for the Tentacles.

I will try to get pictures of them up if i can. (he also made a 2 foot tall Kyuss you can see it in the Age of Wyrms vid on youtube.)check it out and see his mad craft skill

I know this post is nearly dead, but Reaper came out with an awsome Aboleth like mini a month ago, I'm using it in Savage Tide. It's called Goroloth and it's nearly 10 inches long.
Take a look.
