after reading dragon 320 over again I was thinking of making an NPC on the nixie in SWW to be a wyrming that Lavinia's parents were fostering. Having discovered the fragility of humans through their deaths this wyrmling wants to help its caretaker's young as it was being helped. So it gets a job aboard the nixie as a scullery maid or something (in human form, obviously). but having been told to stay out of sight by its mother, it can only work on protecting the ship at night.. adds another aspect of mystery to the voyage... any ideas/comments? what type of dragon should the wyrmling be?
I'd go with a Bronze, due to the close links to sea/coast these dragons have!

My thought on this--when you get to HTBM, they'll want the wyrmling to fly down south of the crash site after help. So be ready to deal with that angle.
thats only if they have figured out that the wyrmling was the reason the nixie wasn't being attacked by wandering monsters and such... with the other twists already in the printed adventure that may be difficult... and I'm putting the wyrmling on the Nixie not the Sea Wyvern, so it won't be there to fly south (but will still be around in ToD to help there if needed ) that is also why I said it was told by its mother that no human should see it in dragon form except Lavinia's parents...

You could always put the wyrmling on Lavinia's ship. After all, you said it wanted to protect her.
