Maybe I posted in the wrong section. Just wanted to see who in the Paizo boards community will be at Gen Con this year. I'm running some games and hope to generate some interest and maybe see some of you at my table.

Steve,
I'd love to see if I can fit one of your sessions into my schedule - what's the best way for me to find them in the event catalog?
I'm running some stuff for Goodman Games. I believe Joseph Goodman is supposed to submit their schedule of events by the end of the week. The schedule of events should be up on the Gen Con site in April. I'll be running 2 sessions of Escape from the Forest of Lanterns and 2 sessions of Heroes' End (HE is a short adventure that will be appearing in the DCC anthology - not sure of the release date).

I have wanted to go to Gen Con for years. Alas, I only have enough funding each year to go to DragonCon, and only because I live in the Atlanta area....
(Well, maybe DragonCon just got taken off the list. I just found out in mid-post that my job (and my entire office) is being closed down, effective today. Talk about the Ides of March....)
Sorry about that - unintentional thread hijack there. If you folks can ever make it down to DragonCon, we'd love to see you!

Hey Steve, What about a were-cabbage Sehan tourney? Three rounds of all-consuming oneness!
GGG
That would be very cool. I queried the folks at Paizo to see if they are interested in having some of their contributors run some of our adventures in recent issues, but no response.

I will most likely be hitting GenCon again this year. I have a friend who runs a gaming shop and he sets up a booth every year (if you play Magic, stop by the Mr. Nice Guy Games booth). Last year was my very first GenCon and it rocked, and although I didn't participate in any gaming events, I did hit 3 out of the 4 Paizo seminars, and they were sweet.
I'll try to check out one of your games, Steve. I've really enjoyed your adventures in Dungeon. Tides of Dread may be my favorite of all time.

Tides of Dread is awesome! One of my favorites of all time as well...I loved Here There Be Monsters tons too!!! Great double team!
Gencon is going to be so freaking awesome! Steve you are the King for running a bunch of events and making sure Paizo folk get to play in them. Great events with excellent game masters at the helm is what makes Gencon magical. Kudos my man!
I am running some too! I'll post about them once I've entered them all. PAIZO TAKES GENCON BY STORM!!!

Maybe in 4 or 5 years, or if I win the lottery.
I wish I could find some orcs in a sewer and steal their gold. Then I could get to GenCon.
Heath,
Just do it my way. Run 32 hours of events and they reimburse you for your badge and part of your hotel...all that's left is travel and food. It's the only way to Con it!!!

Physchic & I are hitting it this year (first time :))!
We're a bit concerned about the price of everything, and the availability of activities throughout the day, but I'm hoping it'll be a blast.
Also, I'm attempting to put together a mid-level Eberron one-shot as an event, so hopefully I get it together and accepted and maybe I'll see a few of you there?
* Any advice on preparing such an adventure? How do you account for the time players make their characters? Should they just be forced to play pre-mades? How about GM house rules (specifically, Vitality & Wound), should I abandon them for the Con? Anything anyone can tell me would be much appreciated.

Hiya Magagumo!
I highly recommend premade characters. Saves tons of time and the story of the adventure can then be threaded closely to their backgrounds and abilities making it even more fun. I think House Rules are fine, just take a moment at the outset to lay them down clearly for the players. I've never had players freak out when I've tossed out House Rules. Be sure to time the event well so it doesn't end way too early or have to get cut short before the climax.
Good luck with the event, and have a great time at the con!

Thanks, Nick! I'm still hoping to be involved with your ginormous gaming project in some way. Keep me posted.

How 'bout....The drunken debauch of the snarky Werewoof? A LARP for 0-level commoners, kinda a d20 modern "live action" scenario...$10 for the keg gets you started.... ;)

You got it Steve! I am entering the events today actually so you can expect an update email in a few hours! Coolness! The event will be the END ALL OF AWESOMENESS!!! Especially with men of your towering skillz helping me run it! Thanks my man!

It could work!!!

Been there, Dalesman. Bummer squared, man. Good luck finding something new. Hope it works out to your advantage.
Many thanks Steve, and my apologies for the slow reply. Now that the shock has cleared, I've decided to take this as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. A bit cliche, I know, but a good mindset is everything, right?

I am sorry about that, Dalesman. I wish you the best of luck and I will put you in my prayers.
Thank you for your kind words, Sharoth, and please accept my apologies for not responding sooner.
I think those prayers worked, because I have already gotten two referrals, and I have an interview scheduled for tomorrow!
Okay, I'll stop with the narcissistic thread-jacking now - back to Gen Con goodness!! :)
