The Fall--The Frenz Experiment

There's now a psychedelia section in the CD/DVD department of the local library.

This is good news. What's more, I think I know who is responsible, and if he's on the desk when I next go in, I shall go up and I shall shake him by the hand.

Anyway, I got out 'Let's Go Down And Blow Our Minds: The British Psychedelic Sounds of 1967'. Naturally, there's a lot of flower/dream/mind/toytown/smelly kaftan b*llocks on there, but also some good stuff I haven't heard before (and still two discs to go!)

Cliff Ward's original demo of 'Path Through The Forest'

The Motives - Ice Woman

And I couldn't find either 'Look At The Sun' by Louise or 'Nice' by the Crocheted Doughnut Ring on Youtube, so here's 'Two Little Ladies' by the former instead, which isn't really as good. Sorry.

Speaking of psychedelia... I was listening to the White Album about a week or so ago because I'm having one of my periodical "oh yeah, the Beatles were really good, weren't they?" remembrances, and...

...I actually enjoyed Revolution #9...

Does this mean I've finally gone the whole way 'round the bend?

Mr. Comrade and I are cheaply renting Ex-Mrs. Comrade's crumbling, subprime mortgage house that she can't get rid of (she bought it before they were together) and living with the two dogs and four cats she left behind.

They didn't have any children, thankfully, so the song doesn't really apply, but I found watching that video more moving than I usually do.

While flyering for our public meeting on campus, I visited the offices of 91.5 WUML (used to be WJUL when I was a kid) and scored a promo copy of the Jesus and Mary Chain's new album, which, I read, is their first album in nineteen years.

Will now listen to it:

Damage and Joy

(So far it sounds like any other J&MC album.)
