Does this paladin have a major role (as printed) in the SCAP? If so, what chapter?
The reason I ask, is that I want him to be a major friend NPC to the PC cleric of St. Cuthbert and if there's some predestined fate that involves him, I'd rather begin planning for it now so that it seems a natural progression of his goals M.O. instead of some major sudden switch-over.
If he does not have any major role, then I'll try to find some motivations for him to add to the campaign so that I can intertwine his role in with the heroes more.
Thanks
Robert

Well, the Demonskar Legacy starts with Alec missing and at the end the pcs find him dead. But as far as I remember his dead is not neccessary. I had him fallen in love with Jenya, and one of my players pc also fell in love with her, which made for a good rpg situation when they thought about helping him getting resurrected.
So, he has no major role in SC...

AH, thank you. So does anyone have any major roles that you've thrust Alec into? Other than simply falling in love with jenya? I mean, he is a paladin: why would he not want to join the adventures to help the children? or the city? or whatever. What is he doing during all the events that are unfolding in the city: the kinnapped children, the goblin skirmishes, the missing wands and floods, etc....
I'm trying to determine his level of involvement in all of this. As I said I have a player with a cleric of St. Cuthbert and I want to make Alec a mentor/friend/colleague of this character and so working some personal motivations in for the paladin is appropriate, I think.
Thanks

Basically, in the early parts of the campaign, Alek is doing a lot of investigation outside of Cauldron - he spends a lot of time in Redgorge, for example. This is why he's not available for the events of Zenith Trajectory (and Flood Season as well, I think). He's also basically the MacGuffin of the Demonskar Legacy - he is tricked and then driven insane by some of the villains there, and the PCs spend the adventure trying to find him. When they get to him he is alive, but he and the PCs are attacked by a powerful demon who concentrates on killing him. The rest of the AP after that assumes that he is dead.

Well... this is going to be a weird one.. but IMC Alec did pass away at the appropriate time in the story and the party refused to leave his body there so they have been carrying it around (sort of a Weekend at Bernies thing).
Well in the next segment of the Campaign they found themselves in the Abyss and the Spellthief in the party was kidnapped and the rest of the party left her to her fate. During their journey they awoke one morning to find that Alec Tercival had apparently got up and wandered away into the night. Since he was headed away from their destination they went on without tracking him down.
Now they have just arrived at the final test and just as soon as they are told the details of the Test of Sacrifice, who should show up, but the Spellthief with a cleric of Wee Jas, two fighters and Alec Tercival!?!?
I think the game this Sunday is going to be awfully interesting.
