Has anyone ever created traps specifically for the purpose of targetting characters protected by an antimagic field?
For example, having a room's floor being a wall of force with illusionary wall covering it. Perhaps, with a 40-foot fall into a pit of acid, which contains various acid-immune creatures.
I was also wondering what CR might be assigned such traps; presumably none if the PCs never use antimagic field. And how would this interact with the CR of other traps that might be present in the location (such as a fireball trap)?

An interesting idea, but as you point out, it only works if the PCs use Anti Magic field. Still, even if it only worked once out of one hundred times, I think it'd be worth it to see their faces when it did happen.
You could also have a monster held in stasis - as soon as they get to close, BAM. I like the whole wall of force/illusionary floor thing.

yep; have done something like this that works on dispel magics; my party was a little happy throwing dispels everywhere and such and they dispelled some magical floor supports that landed them in trouble; dont consider it a trap per se that a crimson rouged rogue (hehe thread joke) could find as it is not really a trap. if you knock out the supports in your house or apartments the same thing would happen.
After all, not all of these dungeons have been dug out by monsters; sometimes they have magical supports in various spots for engineering integrity. Gives your player engineers somethings to think about; they start looking for supports in everything.

Glad you like the idea, Aberzombie!
A similar idea of mine is anti true seeing traps. Here, you have gaze attack creatures like bodaks or medusas behind an illusionary wall. If a true seeing-happy PC sees through the wall, they have to make multiple saves against the effect. I'm not sure if gaze attacks work through a wall of force, but if it does, then you also have that on the other side of the illusionary wall.
Valegrim, having been raised by a civil engineer I know the point you're making. With the dispel-happy PC, doesn't the warlock (Complete Arcana) class have an nasty dispel magic counter ability; I can't remember.

I've thought of something similar, but it would be the basics of disguising undead as something else: Skeletons as flesh and blood, wights as living people. It something that wouldn't always work, and would be over pretty quickly probably, but it would be a good shock for the PCs.

One of the dark invocations is Retributive Invisibility, which causes a damaging burst if dispelled. A Retributive Darkness invocation might be fun to develop (make it a greater invocation).

I had a wizard that accidently became a lich, went mad, and did not know he was a lich. He had been a famous undead fighter and thought they were out to get him and holed up in his tower. He used a hat of disguise to look young, and now it mad him look living.
Well, long story short, when the party found the wizard, the rogue decided to stop any castings by GRAPPLING the lich! LOL! One paralyzed and invisible PC to go, please!
I like playing with experienced gamers.. They have so much to unlearn. . .
