I noticed that with couple of magazines closing the messageboards were redesigned...however, now there is a separate categories for D&D and other RPGs. Does it mean that I should no longer discuss, say, my GURPS, Ars Magica, Cyberpunk 2020, RuneQuest, whatever experiences in D&D board? Even if they are relevant to the topic in question?

Yeah, what's up? The good 'ol D&D general discussion category now seems subsumed in "GAMING - The entire world of gaming—roleplaying, card, board—you name it!" Would it be inappropriate to rave here about the strengths of products (Wizards and Paizo) compete with? Is this a good spot to discuss such unusual topics as writing, illustration, and cartography freelancing in the gaming industry outside of the d20 universe?

My guess is we will have to wait until they wake up on the west coast to get our answers.

Heavy sigh

The Exchange

I don't like the layout at all. I can't figure out where all the stuff I used to like is at. No D&D section? Everything is all moved round and out of order. I understand that certain parts of the site needed to be axed but why make a change painful by switching up, renaming and combining stuff? They could have tried to make the change a bit less traumatic and slowly re-organized things after axing the sections that needed axing. And.....there needs to be a dedicated D&D section (front paged, not a folder within a section), not a mashed up "gaming" section! What is with all the Magnificent Ego sections on the front page of the messageboard? Is this a marketing thing? Why would it get a whole dedicated section but D&D becomes a subfolder under gaming? Now if only I could find the "Rant Thread"!!!

FH (change......not good)

Presumably things are still in a state of flux. However, I would be sad if when all is said and done, the campaign logs are lost forever. All those great stories!!

Things were indeed in a state of flux last night, but they should be relatively settled now.

We needed to move some things around with the closing of Amazing Stories and Undefeated, so we created a new "Paizo Community" forum. This forum is now included under all the other top-level forums (Dragon, Dungeon, etc.).

The Paizo Community forum contains three other forums (fora?): Gaming, Arts & Entertainment and Off-Topic Discussions. The D&D forums (Campaign Journals, Gamer Connection) have been moved into Gaming, and the D&D General Discussion forum has been renamed to simply Dungeons & Dragons.

We added a new "Other RPGs" forum to cover non-D&D/d20/OGL discussions, and the old Undefeated forum is now Card & Board Games.

If they're relevant, continue to do as you as you were doing. But now, if you'd like to start new threads specifically about those games, you have a good place to do so. The goal here is to give you more available topics for discussion, not less.

Yes! Please view our boards as a place to do any and all of those. We're looking to provide places to discuss the products we make, of course, but the new community grouping is designed to encourage discussion of the things we don't make that are important to our customers.

What we're suggesting here, by the way, is that you can feel free to start up non-D&D Campaign Journals, and use the Gamer Connection forum for more than just finding D&D games.

Layout is better now, thanks.
