RAW= Rules as Written

STAP= Savage Tide Adventure Path
SCAP= Shackled City Adventure Path
AOWAP= Age of Worms Adventure Path AKA AOW

I can also say that if you are reading a post and do not understand what an acronym meas just make a post and ask everyone on this board will be glad to tell you what we are talking about

Liberty's Edge

RAW = Rules as Written
STAP = Savage Tide Adventure Path (currently being released in Dungeon)
SCAP = Shackled City Adventure Path (first such adventure series, released in Dungeon).

Its a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll get the hang of it. If I can do, then you can too!

Anything you'd like to know?

BigBubba, you beat me to it!

SRD = Sardinian Revolutionary's Doctrine
GURPS = Gorilla Union of Relatively Peaceable Simians

(Not really; they are System Reference Documents and, I recently learned, Generic Universal Role Playing System; but the Gorilla Union is just more fun!)

LOL!

saern, as i gather from your posts you havent been playing rpg's that long ( a few years, tops), you may want to branch out and take a look at gurps. very good, detailed system, and pretty modular, too. i think youd like it, based on many of your comments here. fun system, and their 4th edition rules absolutely rock.

tog

oh, yeah... acronyms... tog stands for the other guy ;)

BBEG= Big Bad Evil Guy. I think. I always kinda guess on that one.

Yep, that be it.

WtHiwAtIA = What the Hell is with All the Internet Acronyms?

Seriously, just type the words out, it's not that hard!

ROFLMAOTTYLCYAGTGLOLLFGWTBPO!

Any I missed? I'm sure there are tons. D&D related acronyms are exempt, including GURPS and BBEG. Why? Because I'm biased.

Thanks for the reference to GURPS. If I ever find any resources for it, I'll look into it. And you're right, this year on my birthday marked the... 4th anniversary of my gaming? Yeah, that's right. Started playing my sophomore year in high school.

Go forth and learn, young padawan!

lil, i love you and your capacity to make those beautiful links to other sites.

saern, if you do start delving far into gurps, you need to realize one thing... it is nothing, absolutely NOTHING, like d&d in any way, except possibly theme.

tog

btw, when did this become about stuff other than acronyms? -tog

*Chuckling*

Topics of conversation IRL (In Real Life) have a habit of wandering far, far into left field with none of the participating parties being aware of the faux pax so committed.

I've been running a GURPS campaign using the 4th edition rules since they were released to the general public. I am overall very pleased with the new rules, and the GCA (GURPS Character Assistant) is worth every penny of its modest $20 price tag to utilize on your PC.

Too bad WoTC (Wizards of The Coast) cannot seem to be bothered to produce as equally utilitarian software encompassing its "official" rules and materials for PC, NPC and monster creation. It would no doubt carry a hefty price tag, but I also have little doubt, up to a certain point, that they could rake in the cash from such an endeavor. Properly supported, it would greatly bolster many of the gamers I know to be willing to play again, as they could all - via that software - play "official" characters with far less trouble and arguing.

Sorry for the thread de-railment, the topic shall (hopefully) now resume regarding the acronyms of topic ...
