Thar Be Gold Matey!

Savage Tide Adventure Path

I just got 139 the other day and upon a cursory glance of the adventure there seems to be a ton of gold/treasure for the PCs (like way more than they should have). Is this actually the case, or does my cursory glance deceive me?

Don't forget that the pcs should be gaining 2 levels in the course of the adventure (I assume you mean the Savage Tide adventure) and also that Dungeon adventures tend to run at a more challenging level. They may pad the payout a bit to account for extra consumables needed by the party.

"Wands of CLW, here we come," or something to that effect, were the words my players breathed (with sighs of relief) after they looted the Lotus Dragons' base.

Really, the encounters in There Is No Honor beat the crap out of them. They went through 42 or 43 charges on the wand they bought with Lavinia's reward for opening the vault (Parrot Island sucked a lot out of them).

And, I told them (with sinister laughter and all that proverbial jazz) things are only going to get tougher from here on out...

Depending on the size of the party they should hit level 3 by the end. The party should have found about 8-12,000 gold during the course of the adventure to keep up with character wealth per level.

Liberty's Edge

This is why I like to institute Gwar Gwar. Gwar Gwar is a 1/2 orc barbarian with a +2 macahuitl and a ring of regeneration (not worn on a finger) who is always 2-3 levels higher than the party, and follows them around to jack them up for their milk money.

Maybe they're compinsating for the fact that there was so little gold/items in AOW.

Haven't had trouble with them trying to buy much aside from healing potions from the churches in my game. However, the party bard took the wand of ray of enfeeblement (29 charges) after they took down Nemien Roblach at the Taxidermist Guildhall, and totally used it to maximum effecienty the rest of the session. They DEF nuetered the Rhagodessa and Gut tugger with it. I think they must have used 20+ charges out of it in one session. It was crazy! I thought they were going to be in troble and they just started rolling over everyone

Yeah I was wondering if that would happen with anyone. My party is pretty smart (they figured out the Vanderboren vault lock in only a couple minutes) but I don't know if they'd use that wand. We'll see *crosses fingers*
