Well, I've received Dungeon 144 in the mail today, and to date have seen neither hide nor hair of issue 143. I know that sometimes these things get delayed due to the vagaries of the postal service, so I figured I'd wait until I was "lapped" before I made mention of it. Well, I'm assuming that I should have received issue 143 before 144, and in that case, the issue was lost in transit. Could one of you fine gentlepeople contact me about what I need to do to have another copy sent to me? Thank you!
"Wands of CLW, here we come," or something to that effect, were the words my players breathed (with sighs of relief) after they looted the Lotus Dragons' base. Really, the encounters in There Is No Honor beat the crap out of them. They went through 42 or 43 charges on the wand they bought with Lavinia's reward for opening the vault (Parrot Island sucked a lot out of them). And, I told them (with sinister laughter and all that proverbial jazz) things are only going to get tougher from here on out...
The Dalesman wrote: Anywhoo - here's the group I will be running (created using the Gestalt optional rule from UA) You gestalted too, eh? I only have three players this year, so I allowed them to gestalt, and we ended up with: LN Hmn F Sorcerer/Favored Soul of Boccob; "Bellatrix" or "Uhm... yes, I... ah... I'm sure I remember reading something about that somewhere; give me a few weeks and I can figure it out, I'm sure... or reasonably sure...." NG Hmn M Soulknife/Rogue; "Father Micah" or "Yes, I am a member of Pelor's clergy... so what if I don't have any ddivine spellcasting ability! Pelor works in mysterious ways, ya know..." CG Dwr M Scout/Duskblade; "Oskaar" or "Point me at what needs breakin', and I'll break it for ye."
There are only three lines about the Arena in the backdrop article; the only real information there is that the arena is called "Sasserine Arena," it holds gladiatorial fights sponsored/operated by Zelkarune's Horns, and these fights are most often not to the death (and are often used to settle debts). Nothing in the above post looks like it'll screw up Adventure 1, or even connect with it in any way. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to fleshing out the adventure for my Sunday peeps... (yeah, 139 was in my mailbox when I came home, O glorious day)

You're killin' my "I'm sure it'll be waiting for me when I get home from the office" buzz. Sympathy. And every time I see a new post in this thread I have to check it to see if someone's reporting in with news that they actually have the cursed thing.
RedRobe wrote: I'm not planning on running this campaign, though I may subscribe so I have it to run in the future. Along the lines of the "Asian" setting and the earlier talk of Thailand and Madagascar, how do you think converting it to a D20 Past setting might work out? The last 3rd of the campaign is in the Abyss. So... I don't know how well d20 Past could model that. That fact that I know nothing about d20 Past at all, save for its name, could have something to do with this.
Well, it's Friday morning and no sign of the mag in my mailbox - like a chucklehead, I jumped the gun and told my players to get ready to begin the STAP this weekend... well; if it doesn't show up today I guess we can all just crack open some beers and watch football instead. Always good to have a backup plan, see. ;)
Hello, all; My group, located in the Cincinnati OH metro area, is going to be falling apart soon due to the demands of school and such. I believe we're going to be retaining a core of 3-4 players, including myself (the DM), but come September we'll be needing 1-2 more players to round out the group for the Savage Tide AP. We play on Sundays from 4-9pm. If you would like to help fill our table, or would just like more information, please contact me at mike.pettigrew @ att.net. |
