At the end of "Here There Be Monsters", the fallen half-orc paladin Vaego was replaced by Kek, a phanaton druid.
Phanatons. I now have two. lost three characters to leaving town, and one who died. But have gained three others.
Bandersnatch rogue/sorcerer phanaton (stowaway as free feat for backstory)
Shadowscale druid lizardfolk (waterrat)
Keelix scout phanaton (lone survivor)
We are in SWW and apparantly rumours of a ship returing to the Home Island has made for a lot of pcs...
Has anyone found a mini for phanatons?

At the start of "The Lightless Depths" (immediately before Fogmire), with a new player, a semi-retired player, and a retiring character, we now have:

Dofra |
We're in the caves of the Bullywug Gambit.
Here are they (I have six players, and in order to weaken them a bit, dual-classes are mandatory)
- Thial, Rogue 2/Monk 1
- Balthir, Fighter 1/Warlock 2
- Shanya, Sorcerer 1/Bard 2
- Vort, Priest of Procan 2/Barbarian 1
- Odd, Fighter 1/Swashbuckler 2
- Brennan, Scout 2/Druid 1
and an occasional player when one or more guys are unavailable:
- Ghelf, Warmage 2/Rogue 1
Next game, they'll face the savage lizard, the phanaton and the two "dogs"... should be really, really tough, even with plenty of Magic Weapon scrolls (players have some really good "feels", sometimes).

BZZZT, Revive. Starting up a Play-by-Post STAP with a whopping EIGHT players.
1. Ten'gil, M Human VoP Monk: Recently-returned thought dead local now preaching the virtues of goodly enlightenment. Really playing up the RP behind the "Nymph's Kiss" feat. Humorously referred to as Heroboy.
2. Kestra, F Human Monk/Cleric of Cuthbert: Lady Dredd from Cauldron. Followed around by a strange spirit that speaks Elven that only she can see and hear, who goes by the name "Andras".
3. Tyrian, M Halfling Hexblade going Luckstealer: Loves gambling, thinks Dallah Thaun has blessed him. Rest of the party hasn't figured out what he is yet.
4. Yuri, F River Spiritfolk Binder: Exiled Scorpion Clan, House Bayushi courtier from Rokugan, kicked out for "practicing Shadow Magic and consorting with demons" (got caught summoning Naberius). Calls everyone else in the party (and anyone else, except Lavinia so far) "Gaijin" all the time. Wields fans and wears masks, thus easily winning "coolest looking party member".
5. Light, M Azurin Beguiler: Sasserine street magician turned adventurer, hails from Merchant's District. Mostly illusionist/battlefield control type.
6. Kailena, F Half-Elf Sorceress: Troublesome orphan born and raised in Cauldron, recently "given early graduation" from a wizard's school, probably due to troubles with the headmaster's daughter. On "extended leave" from the guild and in Sasserine mostly to keep a low profile... for now.'
The two others haven't decided specifics yet, one will be a Rogue/Swash of some sort, the other is thinking a heavy armor type, neither has decided a race so I'll be back and update when that's all said and done.

I'm gonna start DMing the AP in just a few days. The party makeup is as follows (please note that this is NOT an Eberron game despite the Warforged character):
TN Human Shapeshifter Druid
CG Human Duskblade
LE Warforged Scout (as in the class, not a Small-sized Warforged)
The player of the Warforged is a pushy bastard which is why he's LE. Strangely though, he said in his backstory that he used to be one of the bodyguards for the Vanderboren family so that seems more LG or LN to me. I think he's taking evil as "greedy bastard" more than "KILL EVERYTHING" although he "wants to do whatever I want". Heh heh... Time to roll up some town guards for when this guy's @ssholery goes to far... :)

Our party started out in May 2008 as a party of 4. We now very in size from five to seven.
The Original four at there current level of advancement.
The Lady Verity Rogue 9
Lesant Diviner 4 Mage of the Arcane Order 5
Olmanran Binder 9
Danithal Silverbrook Elven Ranger 8, Demon Totemslayer 1
Currently our other two full time players are:
Ilu Silverbrook, brother of Danithal Elven Druid 9
Checkvar Cleric of Pelor 8, Radiant Servant 1

Luna eladrin |

My party started November 2007 and consists of:
A male N half-orc fighter
A female N half-elf fighter
A female CE aventi enchanter
A female LE human ranger/fighter
A male CE human (Olman) ranger/barbarian/rogue
A female LN human cleric with 2 servants (a porter and a groom)
Lot of female characters, only one female player :-)
So far it has been a fun campaign, perhaps the best I have ever run.

Just curious. What kind of characters are in your party? What oddities are in your groups?
The group I DMed Savage Tide for was pretty bad. As players they worked poorly together and two of them grew to dislike each other. It was a tough group to DM and I was glad when it was over. I'd never been around drama like this at a D&D table. Two of the players were married, and eventually divorced about a year after our Savage Tide game ended. These people were so antagonistic to each other, and so confrontational that they could not divide treasure in an adult manner. They had to come up with a DKP system like in World of Warcraft. It was the most ridiculous thing I'd ever seen.
1. Human female ranger: She was schizophrenic in-character as she could not decide whether to be ranged or melee, and it was different every game session. She was constantly asking to change feats. She could not settle on an animal companion, either. Her husband (now ex-husband) kept telling her how to play her character. She did play her ranger poorly, but he went out of his way to loudly give her unsolicited advice. So, she ended up wandering away from the table for long spans of time during the game. In an effort to "get back" at her husband, she encouraged the antics of player three, her brother.
2. Human male swordsage: Husband of the above (now, ex-husband). A control freak who acted like everyone's boss at the table. He was an unhappy guy who really brought things down. He had a good character concept but chose terrible stances and maneuvers for his swordsage (from Tome of Battle: The Book of Nine Swords. And the dice never, ever gave him any luck. He hated the next player and their constant back-and-forth infighting in-character and out of character threatened to ruin the game every time we played.
3. Gray elf male wizard: Little brother of player number one who acted like a 12-year-old. It was just as awful having him at the table as having player number two. This guy knew how to min/max and did. Every level he'd take some new unbalanced feat or spell and I'd have to make him change it because he overwhelmed the adventure. In-character, he wanted to become a god and be the next Vecna - which irked player number two. So, he constantly talked about his "ascension" to goad his brother-in-law. He also hated player number four and took Leadership so he could have his "own cleric." It was this player that convinced players one and four to follow him into evil alignment territory and really made the game no fun for me or player two. A real selfish, immature player *sigh*
4. Human male cleric of Heironeous: This guy could not seem to understand that we were playing in Greyhawk. He made a cleric of the Silver Flame and I had to constantly remind him of his alignment and the campaign setting. He had no idea how to play a cleric (and currently has no idea how to play a warlord in our Scales of War game) and was just terrible in game play - thus justifying the antics of player three. He was always a non-factor in-game. Out of character and in real life he was a perfectly nice guy and I felt badly he'd gotten mixed up wit this group.
There ya go. My Savage Tide experience was pretty bad. It's a great adventure, though. Sadly, I squandered it on the wrong group of people.
I now game with the another brother of player one and three who acts and plays like an adult. A noted above, player four is also in our Scales of War game. Without the bad influence of player three, he is better to game with, despite not having a clue how to play well.

Failed Saving Throw |

The party just killed Emraag and is moving on to Part Two of "The Lightless Depths." We've had three PC deaths. The current party:
1. Lukas Blegg, human archivist 11
2. Kithkanin, wood elf fighter 6/blackguard 5
Follower: Xore, lizardfolk black dragon shaman 9
3. Arjan, human druid 11
4. Morderas, half-drow rogue 5/swordsage 6
5. Thalas, high elf duskblade 1/wizard 5/eldritch knight 2/abjurant champion 2

Jovan Vasiljevic |
Ascard - Human Rogue 4/Fighter 2/Dervish 2 - The worst RPer in the group, he's supposedly a gypsie Robin Hood, although I have yet to see him do a good deed or do anything except combat for that matter.
Runstrem Tharmiel - Elf Fighter 4/Paladin 3/Champion of Corellon Larethian 1 - he's the new guy in our gaming group, so he's still a bit shy about RPing in character, though he did write a couple of pages of character background and did a drawing, so I can't really complain. A weaponsmith by trade and recently joined the Church of Whirling Fury.
Artholor 'Art' Hoyt - Half-Elf Bard 8 - A flamboyant half-elf who hates his elven half and tries to hide it as best as he can, wearing a beard and casting disguise spell to change his ears. A womanizer and defacto leader of the party, he had a brief fling with Amelia during SWW, now he has eyes on Lavinia. He's the son of:
Sol Invictus - Human Cleric 6/Radiant Servant of Pelor 2 - 71 years old (yup, Str and Dex 8). Joined the monastery and forsake his previous life, thus changing the name and taking Vow of Poverty. Loads of fun to watch him bicker with his son about the way he treats women. Not much of an effective character though, basically he can just heal, although he rarely does anything out of character.
Khatran Rask - Human Conjurer 4/Master Specialist 4 - An uptight noble of Sasserine and a member of Dawn Council, forced to work as a mercenary due to his father's debts. Always is competing with Art over the attention of ladies.
Gimdin - Dwarf Druid 8 - just joined the party, so I'm yet to see how he RPs and interacts with the party. Doesn't handle mechanics of the game that good.
They work well as players and as a group (with the exception of the Paladin we've all spent the 4 years of high school together), although they're not very effective in combat (I stopped adding critters to fights because they have enough trouble as it is), they're roleplaying wonderfully (with some exceptions like I said), so I can't really complain about anything.

There ya go. My Savage Tide experience was pretty bad. It's a great adventure, though. Sadly, I squandered it on the wrong group of people.
Wow. I thought my group could be a little annoying at time, it doesn't even touch this. Thanks for putting things in perspective for me.
---
My Savage Tide group:
Two character deaths so far(both from same player... same session -.-; ).
Current characters as of just after defeating Orlangru at the Shrine of Demogorgon in the Fogmire:
Traith, CG human barbarian 6/champion of gwynharwyf 1.
Solid roleplayer and good concept. Obviously follows the Whirling Fury ;)
Bone Breaker, NG goliath fighter 6
Fairly powerful character and bull rush specialist. Player tends toward rules-lawyerish, but can roleplay well if he tries.
Kopilli, LG aasimar(olaman) cleric 6 of Quetzacuatl
Excellent roleplayer and she's always enthusiastic (a blessing). Not so good with the rule intricacies of the game but she tries her best.
Borik, LN human duskblade 7
Also good roleplayer and can be very tactical (sometimes overly much). Way too powerful in my opinion, but that might be just duskblade. Rolls more natural 20's per session than any player I've ever seen in my life. *exasperation*
Tessa, CN catfolk ranger 6
Newest to the group but good roleplayer when she gets over her shyness. Is going Totemic demonslayer at first opportunity.
Dram, CG teifling (0-LA variant) conjurer wizard 5/ malconvoker 2
My DM for Rise of the Runelords and the player whose characters I've killed twice (both in the same session). Known as Tarlane on these boards.
---
So there it is. Time will tell who survives to the end.

I have three games going ah-hahah-I'm so screwed...
One online that's RP heavy because there's just one other person:
Cap'n Chance Darkmantle - Half-Elf Swashbuckler going for Legendary Captain or Dread Pirate
Mr. Markas Tailtreader - half half elf half half orc (go ahead ask...) Ranger/Swashbuckler
and the party is rounded out with npcs not worth noting...
Anyone interested can read about this one at feydorian.livejournal.com
IRL 1 the Hometeam
Aldwin Sea Elf male sorceror
Vanessa Human female fighter
Drew Human male rogue
Krissumi Human female Cleric of Ehlona(sp?)
IRL 2 the Awayteam
I forget the names... so interesting notes instead
Male Halfling Rogue is already known by most of the Watches
Male Gnome Sorceror a NE character... the only one
Female Elf Druid done with Coastal variation of weapon list
Male Human Fighter the only one hinting at an affiliation the Scarlet Brotherhood...

My party is:
Phen Dredar: Aventi Druid/ranger/Legendary Captain. His village was wiped out by sahaugin after someone brought a black pearl into the village. He tracked the pearl to Kraken Cove where he met the party. He has a romantic interest in Harliss
Rokar: awakened crocodile fighter (phen's cohort)
Bruce: Human Warlock/Enlightened Soul (celestial warlock), dating Lavinia
Sinbad: (yeah that's his name) rogue/cleric of olidamarra
Oil: golem (warforge) monk (vow of poverty) Saint of Pelor (using the saint template which he just aquired in the shrine to demegorgon)
Last one is a maybe
Grond: troll (will be barbarian when he finishes growing up.)

Jovan Vasiljevic |
Hey, I just remembered. Does your group have a name? Mine:
Ascard - Human Rogue 4/Fighter 2/Dervish 2
Runstrem Tharmiel - Elf Fighter 4/Paladin 3/Champion of Corellon 1
Artholor 'Art' Hoyt - Half-Elf Bard 8
Sol Invictus - Human Cleric 6/Radiant Servant of Pelor 2
Khatran Rask - Human Conjurer 4/Master Specialist 4
Gimdin - Dwarf Druid 8
They're called Tidecrushers. They still have no idea what Savage Tide is, but once they heard the campaign's name is Savage Tide and is a bit aquatic, they thought it fitting. I think so, too.
