I roleplay the NPCs.
When the Roc was raised from the dead by the Telepath,
(Reality Revisision cost 5,000XP)It was more pissed at the earlier group that killed it then anything else.
The fourth nature spirit that was part of the demi-plane
noticed the psionic willing the Roc back to life.
They had negotiated past the Titan and the tree.
(The Titan was relocated to the plane of the Abyss where Lolth
used to live. The tree agreed to hush up for 24 hours because
of the promise of freedom.)

Several players were griping about having no chance of going up a level.
I decided the release of the memories in the Library caused them to go up the level.
Next session, they find themselves suddenly facing the army of the undead.
The module is a non-stop rollercoaster.
When and where could you sneak off, rest, and rememorize spells?


The island is huge--the PCs can certainly use magic to move quickly from challenge to challenge, but there's plenty of room to find a safe spot to hide out and rest up as well.

I should think that the Watchers would be rather miffed at the party for helping the titan escape Last Resort, and would not be satisfied with less than the death of the Nighttwist--I'm not sure that they would agree to let them taste the waters of the fountain, at least not without the one Watcher challenging them to a fight.

The fourth watcher will pretty much find any excuse to challenge the PCs to a fight at the end. He alone does not want ANYONE to ever gain the knowledge. That being said, the other Watchers a pretty neutral in their stances and would probably have no problem with the creative solutions mentioned in the OP.


Don't forget that when the PCs face the army of undead, they are refreshed as if they had rested & rememorized spells.

That may be, but once the challenge has started, it happens fast paced. If the party telepots or flys away from where they start in the vision, the undead would simply overrun the rest of the druids and the vision would be a failure, as far as battle is concerned.

What could happen is that the Watchers could offer the party a rest before they drink of the Fountain, or maybe calling on the power of the island to heal them quickly. This is to say that they already haven't drunk of the fountain.
