One of my more ambitious PCs is currently researching the amount that Vhalantru donated to the city, resulting in his being awarded nobility.
I dont see any reason why he wont be abl eot come up with an accurate figure, as he's already made some very good contacts in the city, but I want to make sure my own number is realistic, and fits the local economy, etc.
Any ideas on what a reasonable donation from Vhalantru might have been?
I would probably use this as an opportunity to foreshadow the fact that there is something wrong with Vhalantru. The PC would get the run around and be sent from person to person, even their most trusted associates would be sure the person they are sending them to would know only to find they are sent to yet another person... even to the point of being in a circle. If you can, throw in a few lower level beaurocrats who are dominated and give the PC a chance to figure that out with sense motive.
By the end it should be possible to piece together that there is a chance that Vhalantru dominated his way into power.

Yep, foreshadow his evilness. The PC can only find someone who knows someone who knows how much Vhlantru gave. That person of course only heard it from someone else. V used his magic to get where he is, not hard coin.
