Hey fellow Dungeon enthusiasts,
Normally I'm a Minnesota man (western suburbs of Minneapolis, to be precise), but I find my feet a itchin' for the road. I'll be taking a trip with a few friends out to the Seattle area on Friday of this week and was wondering if there are any Friendly Local Game Stores in the Seattle area worth checking out.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Game Wizards (on Greenwood just above 85th) has a good selection, including family board games and wargames. The Dreaming (on University Way above 52nd) has a friendly owner and plenty of comics. And if you're in Redmond, Games and Gizmos has a refreshingly clean and open store, with lots of toys and family games.
I'm sure there are others, and perhaps better ones, but those are the ones I check.

Game Wizards went out of business some time in the last few months, AFAICT. Gary's Games (on Greenwood) is the only one left in the north Seattle area, I think.
Ah, I just noticed the address you gave. As jester47 said, that's Gary's Games. Game Wizards was on 65th.

Sben, you are thinking Gary's Games. Game Wizards are on 65th, East of 8th. Not sure if Games and Gizmos are still around. Thought they went out of business.
Ah, totally, my bad; I was thinking of Gary's.
Games and Gizmos, on the other hand, did go out of business a while ago, but someone apparently bought the name and the Redmond lease. (I think it's "Genesis Games and Gizmos" now.)

There's also the place downstairs in Pike Market, but it's more of a "toys and collectibles" store, with a few games. (At least it had some games several years ago; I don't know if it still does.) It wouldn't be worth a trip by itself, but Pike Market is an entertaining visit for out-of-towners, and a good place to get fresh fish and veggies.
Does anyone know any other Seattle-area places?

For the number of game companies based in the area, there's a surprisingly low number of game stores in the region. Gary's Games is probably the best one that's still in business, especially now that Wonderworld is closed. There's also a pretty good store in the Crossroads mall in Bellevue called Uncle's Games; it's the closet game store to the Paizo offices and thus the one that we visit most often.

Golden Age Collectibles (they're actually my FLCS). They do carry RPGs still. Not what you'd find in a dedicated gaming store, but much better than mass market. And Pike Place is *definitely* worth a visit if you're in town.
