My players just (barely) defeated Gottrod the dragon and we ended the game at that point until next time. Now my players want to make armor, weapons, and clothing for each of their characters out of the dragon's hide and other parts. Where can I find info on making dragon (insert random body part here) items?
In 2e I kinda remember that only a shield or pair of boots could be made from a size L category dragon. Gottrod suffered many slashing attacks and a few lightning bolts from my party.

With impeccable timing, Super Fang arrives to provide help to page-weary DMs everywhere! My group dealt a killing blow to Gottrod this past weekend and asked the same question. Thanks for the tip!
And in a flash he is gone. Super Fang has heard the cry of another forlorn DM and is on his way to defeat gamer angst, wherever it may arise.
Super Regards,
Koramado

Yeah, and did ya notice there was no embarrassing cape-tripping incidents this time? A much tidier save-the-day sort of thing...

I recommend Dragon issue #332 if you have it. There is an excellent article called "101 Uses For a Dead Dragon." What more could you ask for?
For those in Spain (I know there aren't much of us here, but what the heck) you can check this issue in the Spanish Dragon magazine #12 (article called "El despiece del dragón ".
Q. (Sorry for my bad english)

This will not be the last dragon your heroes face. For other ideas you can check out Dragon magazine #317 "Using power components" or Unearthed Arcana, metemagic components pg. 139. I have allowed my players to harvest some dragon parts with a knowledge (arcana) or appraise check to determine what is valuable. Then a survival check to harvest the item(s). It has not unbalanced my campain and rewards industrial players (I also DM deadly dragons). If you allow harvesting other creatures you should probably adjust treasure rewards. Good luck.
