Finally, an alternative to "Place your rant here" - Gen Con Indy Advice?

Wow, the place your rant thread has really gotten dull as of late just to read much less consider responding to. I'll be in Indy in a couple of weeks for my first Gen Con. What should I expect? What D&D materials should I bring? Are there any good pubs in Indy worth visiting? Etc.

I'm also going to GenCon Indy - my first GenCon, although I've been to other types of conventions. Is there already some sort of Paizo-boards get-together planned? Should we plan one?

Not that i'm aware of, and i'm not sure how many others on these boards are going...if there is enough interest, i wouldn't be opposed to meeting some folks from the boards.

I do believe Paizo was planning some sort of hoo-rah, but I'm not sure - check the store blog/news to be sure.

It's my first con...ever and I've been playing RPGs for over 16 years, so I'm kind of interested what any Gen Con veterans have to say. Here's a dumb question: I accidentaly registered for two events, one right after the other. A Mark of Heroes game and the True Dungeon right after that. Do you all think I will be able to do the game and get to the True Dungeon in time or am I going to have to give some lucky gamer a Mark of Heroes ticket? (No way I'm giving up the True Dungeon!)

Well, I couldn't find anything re: Gen Con Indy on these boards, but maybe i'm not looking in the right places. I don't have any tickets to events...i figured there would be plenty of folks who for some reason or another won't be able to make events. Just like undergrad...there's always some that drop the first day of class...
