So did I miss the 20th anniversery dungeon promo?
FH
Only if you've been time traveling. The 20th anniversery Dungeon is issue #138... the one we're currently working on. It should be heading out to subscribers toward the end of July or early August, and hopefully will be around for Gen Con.
We have no plans at this point to do any mini promotions, but don't be TOO jealous. Dungeon's had MANY more premiums (in the form of poster maps, mostly) than Dragon has had recently.
Not that it wouldn't be awesome to do a mini promo for Dungeon...

Mmm, poster maps! Yummy poster maps!
Have I mentioned lately that I love me some cardboard counters of monsters, too? I miss those guys!

I think Wizards should issue a whole miniatures line based on the favorite villains and monsters that have graced the pages of Dungeon magazine. I'd spend some serious cash on that. It would be nice if they did that sooner than 2016, of course...like NOW ;)
Tongueeater, Flame, Kyuss, stuff from the old days, etc....I think it would sell really well.

I'm workin' on figuring out how to make minis myself. Hopefully I'll have my first done here soon. Dire flumphs for everybody!

I'm just picturing the 12 inch high Kyuss miniature sitting on the table, with worms writhing and the executioner's mace about to smack a PC :-)
But if they make a Flame miniature (and really, a kick-ass red dragon is probably more versatile than Kyuss to most DMs) then they also have to make the Kamikaze Kobolds to go with him :-)

Oh, ME TOO!
I second the motion to bring these back.
I fully understand that the D&D plastic minis are seen as "better" by many gamers, but I really like the cardboard flat disk-type minis.
I'd like to see more of those to be used as PCs/NPCs and many for orcs, kobolds, zombies, etc. Fodder critters, you know?

I'd rather have more and better maps in Dungeon than any miniatures, plastic or cardboard. The Greyhawk Map was great.
Maps ARE nice "gimmees".
We're going to get one with the upcoming adventure path kick off (or at least, we BETTER get one!), but maps of locales scaled for use with minis are great additions.

...you're handing out cool minis to current Dragon subscribers.
Just want to clarify one thing - the Dragon promo mini is not a free item. It's available for sale exclusively to subscribers.

Also, thanks partly to this thread, we've asked for—and been granted—permission from Wizards to allow Dungeon subscribers to purchase the Black Dragon mini too.
