Playing a cleric in the Shackled City AP

Shackled City Adventure Path

I am going to play a cleric in the SCAP and want to make my character feel at home in cauldron. There are temples of St. Cuthbert, Kord, Pelor an Wee Jas in the city. Although I think it would be no serious problem to add a small shrine of a fifth faith, I prefer my cleric to worship one of these four deities.

First I wanted to play a cleric of St. Cuthbert going for church inqisitor, but my DM told me there won't be any intrigues going on within the church to uncover. He instead suggested Wee Jas as a patron deity. It is a lawful church ridden with corruption.
The AP will be set in Greyhawk and I want to make a real Greyhawk character. I am using the spell compendium and wonder which domains are appropriate for Wee Jas. In a download from the living greyhawk page I read that her temples are protected by charmed monsters. So do you think the charm domain would fit?
I consider the deathbound and the undeath domain for to vile. The repose domain listed in the download appeared in Sandstorm, as I have no access to this supplement I am asking if it differs from the one presented in the players guide to faerun.

Thank you for your oppinion in advance.

I'm playing a cleric of Wee Jas in an AoW campaign, so I can feel your pain. =)

One of the more recent Dungeons had several Feats and options available for clerics, and they are quite tasty for the clerics of Wee Jas. In particular, you may want to look at focused domains - you only get one domain, but that granted power is much more effective.

The Repose is an excellent choice - it's basically the same between the two books, and I like it, because it's not quite as undead-friendly as the Death Domain.

Complete Divine lists Wee Jas's Domains as Law, Mind, Magic, Domination, and Death. If you are looking for an inquisitor-type (which is an awesome PrC you could look into taking), I would go with Law and Mind or Domination.

I hope this helps!

Sovereign Court

This is really a question your DM should be answering.

By way of suggestions though, I can tell you that the Living Greyhawk Deities 2.0 document lists the following domains for Wee Jas: Domination, Inquisition, Law, Magic, Mind, Repose.

Liberty's Edge

We had a cleric of Wee Jas in a campaign I was running, though he was shooting to be a True Necromancer so I think he was alot more undead friendly then what you are looking for. I think his two domains were Death and Magic.

I think I will go for the church inquisitor PrC, with the Domination and the Repose domain. My DM and me thought about changing the detect evil spell-like ability on the first level to detect chaos, because there might be evil aligned members of the church totally devoted to the faith. It is the chaotic heretics threatening the holy Law of the Stern Lady.

The true necromancer PrC would have been nice too, but one of the players was quite shocked when I was asking to burrow the Libris Mortis from him. In addition we already have an arcane spellcaster in the group. She is a gnome illusionist and I suggested giving up enchantment and necromancy because of my domain selection.

Will there be enough to do for a cleric in the SCAP?
(And I have something different in mind then closing the wounds of my fellow adventurers)

Liberty's Edge

Clerics are pretty vital in this adventure path just because it is such a tough AP that your healing abilities will always be needed. And it sounds like you have alot of plans surrounding your character so you'll have alot of fun with this character.

Without giving anything away, I can safely say that a cleric of Wee Jas will have a great deal to do in the SCAP.

*pokerface*

Sweet! Thanks everyone.

I consider taking the Scribe Scroll feat because the Ruby Sorceress promotes the creation of magic items and the Spontaneous Healer feat because of your post Tarlane and the absence of undead characters in my group :) And if I can afford some sacred clothing as presented in Dragon 328 some rubbies in my platinum blond hair would be pretty.
Without the intent to get on your nerves:
Do you have any suggestions for a nice flaw not too severly crippling my effectiveness.

BTW I am very interested to get to know what faith your clerics in the SCAP uphold.

In my game, I have a cleric of Pelor who is now a Radiant Servant. She has taken over the Pelor shrine that was screaming "please rescue me!" and revitalized it. She has taken Leadership and Inspired Leader (+2 to leadership score, 2nd cohort,) and now has a "salvation army" that cheerfuly works for her for free. She is now finding out if she can buy some surrounding land to expand the building into a proper temple.

The dwarven wizard is a strong worshipper of Wee Jas. Since she donates her item creation talents to the church and she has been accepted to the "outer circle", she is able to buy any magic item they make, any spell they cast, or even magic item components for 20% discount. She was also able to get Ike Iverson to raise a companion from the dead.

The fighter and leader of the group strongly worships Kord and is a very active member. She has gone through the barbarian retreat and now has Zachary pursuing her romantically.

The ranger/bowman is a worshipper of Fharlagngn and is also a member of the Striders group.

So the Shackled City faiths has played strongly in my game.

I don't want to derail my own threat but how did Kyra finally got her barbarian level?
