<Potential spoiler alert!>
What is Lashonna's motivation to help the PC's find Dragotha's phylactery, exactly? I've read and re-read the relevant adventures, and, while it seems she's trying to "eliminate her competition," it seems like getting rid of Dragotha is counter-productive to her other goals. Her goals are relevant as I'm modifying her (and Dragotha) slightly to fit into my campaign, and I'd like to have a better understanding of her reasons for supporting the PCs, even indirectly.

Assuming all goes to plan, however (and not having read the last two adventures, obviously)- wouldn't Lashonna be concerned about Kyuss' reaction, or that she could be preventing his "rise" by getting rid of Dragotha? Maybe it will become more clear with the final adventure, but it seems to me that it's in her best interest to let him stay around until it's certain that Kyuss is going to show up... :)

Lashonna's actions won't necessarily come to Kyuss' attention--she's acting very much on the sly. She also, presumably, figures that when the PCs take on Dragotha, they'll be severely weakened and unable to interfere with the return of Kyuss to the material plane. So basically she's playing her two biggest problems off against each other and hoping they cancel each other out.
Kyuss is evil, and probably doesn't care what his servants do to each other, as long as the outcome brings what he desires (freedom from the monolith and the Age of Worms), and Lashonna knows this--if she outmaneuvers Dragotha she has merely proven herself worthy of being Kyuss's right hand woman.
