There are a Ton of them. You should look in Pazios Online Shop they sell 2nd edition books in PDF format. Some good game were. The Vecna Adventures (Vecna Lives!, Vecna Reborn, and DIE Vecna, DIE), also Return to the Tomb of Horros, Return to Whit Plume Mountain, and the Rod of seven Parts. There are many other adventures tha are good to but those were some of my favorites.

Well, you should also look no further than the pages of Dungeon from issues #81 going back. There were a helluva a lot of great 2nd edition modules. One of my faves dealt with a cult of Tharizdun. Not sure what the name of that adventure was, but the cover boasted the eye catching tag line "I'm having Tharizdun's love child" or some such.

Thanks for the ideas. But since I am a newbee to posting I forgot to say in my frist post that this is going to be a 1 on 1 game I dont know if the ideas will work. I have the boxed set rod of seven parts, and I know that one wont work. Any other ideas for a one on one game?
I don't think any of the good 2nd 'Classics' would work as an 1-on-1. I think your best bet would be old Dungeon mags. I were to be as bold as to make a suggestion, (which I guess I am) is to get a couple more players and do either Rod of Seven Parts or Lost Temple of Tharizdun (which very well could be a 1st for all I know).

I'll try the idea of a few more players but I can't seem to find any that play 2nd edition. but thanks for your input

Maybe a 2nd ed. "munchkin" player with a couple of 'cohorts' or an artifact of some sort. It'd be some Rambo stuff, but it could work with the right tweaking. Two guys in my current group spent much of their gaming career playing one-on-one stuff, but all of that is way over-powered stuff (as you can imagine in a solo game). They've always had fun, but it's never been a 'pure' game. Whatever that means. Even created a pretty whole world out of it all over the 20 years.

You're going to have difficulty finding a module that will work with only 1 PC. They simply weren't meant for that. If you can't find other players, my suggestions is to have your Player run two PCs and you run an NPC. You may also want to have them start a level or two higher than whatever the module is set for to help compensate. You can survive with 3, if you're very careful. :)
I know lots of people balk at that, but when I started DMing the player I DM'd for ran 5 simpley because there was NO ONE else around that was intersted. And she had a blast.

Thanks Tiger Lily I'll give that a shot and let you all know what the outcaome is. :)

There are some neat little modules you can use for a 1on1 game.
These are titled:"Fighter's Challenge"
"Cleric's Challenge"
"Thief's Challenge" and
"Wizards Challenge".
There have also been second parts to them as well.
Look for those, there are easy to prepare and fun to play!
Don't know where to get them though...

FYI, that was one of the first 3rd edition adventures in Dungeon, not a 2nd edition one.

Thieves challenge two was a blast to play. Very piratey.
Fighters challenge one was very very cliche, but was still cool as heck when I was 13.
Not a premade D&D adventure, but a while back a friend of mine did a campaign based of Thief, the computer game. Went realy well and would be perfect for a single PC (single rogue that is). Only real problem we had was having too many PCs, had a few sessions where it was obvious the only reason people were allowed to come along was because the player was a member of our roleplaying group, and not cause their character was actualy needed.
Investigative games are good for one on one. Just got the current Dungeon yesterday and there's an amazing Eberron adventure in there that would work with some conversion.

Yep. It was "The Cradle of Madness" which appeared in Dungeon ninety-something. I enjoyed it as well.
What level are you going to be playing at?

I remember running "horror on the hill" for one of my good friends when we couldn't get any other players to start a group. I had him run 2 characters and I handled the third. It ended up being one of the best modules ever and I still have lots of good memories from those sessions. Someone else (above)mentioned running an adventure like this and I have to say that it worked out well for us as well. I found his sketches of the old ladies from the adventure the other day while I was cleaning out old D&D stuff and it reminded me just how good "horror on the hill" was. Good luck and have fun with 2nd edition! :)
Those modules the other posters have mentioned that are specifically designed for one player sound very interesting though.

Having played my share of solo campaigns and adventures, I have a few suggestions for you. If you feel that you can tweak a third edition adventure for 2nd edition rules (this really shouldn’t be too difficult, since the stats in second edition are much simpler), try the adventure “Gambler’s Quest” from Expeditious Retreat. It’s designed to be played with a DM and a single rogue (although it is easily convertible). I wrote the thing, so I may be tooting my own horn here, but it was a really fun one. I know that Expeditious Retreat is also publishing some new ones (one-on-one adventures) as well. You can buy either a print version through their website: www.exp.citymax.com, or you can download the PDF version right off of Paizo’s website!
If you don’t mind tweaking a standard Dungeons and Dragons adventure for second edition (this is really easy as well—you don’t even have to do anything, just run the monsters right out of the second edition MM and call it good), try running “Sword and Shield” or any of the Thunder Rift adventures. They’re designed for one DM and one player as well, and I had a great time playing them back in the day. In fact, “Gambler’s Quest” is sort of inspired by “Sword and Shield.” Anyway, let me know what you think, and have fun!
