Is it blasphemy to post this on here? :p
Anyway, my group and I have grown a little tired of the rules of 3.x. Things are getting entirely too difficult to manage during large battles. Far too many feats and rules for combat.
We want fun, like back in the day. So, Ive decided to do a conversion of AoW to Castles and Crusades which is loosely based on the D20 OGL, with mixes of OD&D, AD&D, and AD&D 2nd.
Would anyone be interested in this? Will I be kicked off the boards for mentioning non WoC products?
Thanks!

So why not just cut back to the core rules and be done with it. I see no need for Castles and Crusades let a lone a conversion to C&C. I love all of the rules and options that have been presented by 3.5D&D and all of the OGL supplements.
So my vote is No, I am not interested!

I can see where you C&C guys are coming from. Does it seem more like chess than fast-paced descriptive combat at times? Does character creation look more like deck construction these days. Maybe I'll convert it to White Wolf - mmmm... Exalted! Then again I do own Teenagers from Outer Space and Ghostbusters or what about Big Eyes Small Mouth! Dude that would so rock!
::Gets notes together for next campaign::
Triple G
PS Just one more word: Toon!

Because there are many systems that are much better than 3.5. Cutting back to the core rules doesn't change that. All of the OGL supplements can be easily converted, though.
And, G cubed....*scratches head* not sure it that was a well veiled insult or a joke but it was funny. Yes to everything you've said!! I've never really been in to Werewolf or any of those and I've never tried Exalted. However, a friend of mine loves to collect those odd RPG games and I have tried Big Eyes, Small Mouth. Character creation is a lot of fun in that.

I, personally, not speaking as a representative of Paizo, would totally love to see the Age of Worms converted to Call of Cthulhu.
But only so I could read the campaign journal thread.
(And only if James Jacobs runs it.)
Oh, plus Vyth has to die in every session. You know, like Kenny.

I will agree to completly and 100% disagree with you. But if you must convert to C&C go ahead. I still see no reason to do so. I agree that there are other systems out there & I have played many fo them. In my 25 years of gaming I still like D&D 3.5 the best. So I agree to disagree.

Entirely possible assuming you can find all of his essential salts.
And no it wasn't an insult. And to all of you who haven't tried anything beyond D&D and pseudo-D&D I suggest you get out more and see what non-800 lb. gorillas there are to play. Playing one thing (or variants on that one thing) tends to lead to GM, player and even industry myopia. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have your favorites, but trying different games can only make you a better gamer (both mechanically, and role-playing-wise). I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, but I do see it as a problem with some older D&Ders many of whom have never strayed far from their home game. Seriously, I think Toon would be hilarious. Just imagine the face trap in "Whipering Cairn" as done by the Looney Toons. Likewise Call of Cthulhu (it could even be set in the 20's), 7th Sea (non-d20), or DC Heroes could all be cool twists on the Age of Worms.
