What were your favorite articles in Dragon throughout 2005? Mine is as follows:

February 2005, issue 328: Generating Character

March 2005, issue 329: The Petit Tarrasque (and Other Stories)

April 2005, issue 330: Return to the Far Realm

May 2005, issue 331: Fast, Furious, and Fantastical

June 2005, issue 332: Chromatic Player Characters

July 2005, issue 333: Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Fraz-Urb'luu

October 2005, issue 336: Birth of the Dead

November 2005, issue 337: Monsters of the Mind

December 2005, issue 338: Schools of Magic

Not for the living, return to the far realm, all of the demonicons, the two Keith baker articles on the dragon below and the lords of dust, and the Core Beliefs that was just up.

i definitely liked the Demonomicon articles. i liked the ecology of the kenku and kyuss-spawn. there are probably others i can't think of at the moment.

My top 10, in no particular order (not including Monsters of the Mind, of which I cannot be objective):

Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Pazuzu #329
The Legacy of Beowulf #329
Return to the Far Realm #330
The Point of Pole Arms #331
Demonimicon of Iggwilv: Fraz-Urb’luu #333
Haunted Houses #336
The Ecology of the Spawn of Kyuss #336
Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Zuggtmoy #337
Staffing Issues #338
Ecology of the Spell Weaver #338

Honorable Mention:
Monsters of Arabia #334
Ecology of the Kraken #334
Class Acts: Sorcerer (knowstones) #333
Silicon Sorcery: Shadow of the Colossus #336

Mmmm... ecology of the Kraken was really good. I may be biased because I first read that article on a sunny beach in mexico on vacation and have positive associations, but I still liked it.

you got attacked by a kraken on a sunny beach in mexico? :)

Sovereign Court

Ironically, all my 2005 faves were covered in Dragon Compenium Vol. 1.

That's just typical of a kraken.

My top 5 articles:
1. Prull's Symphony: spells for bards
2. New Olam College
(Sense a theme here?)
3. Monsters of Arabia
4. Ecology of the Lizard Man
5. Pole Arms

I'll throw my votes to Demonomicon of Iggwilv: Zuggtmoy (#337) and Staffs of the Magi (#338)...and Worm Food (it's cheesy but crunchy)

Liberty's Edge

Haunted Houses from the October issue.

That article was perfect. It provided mechanics for something we've all seen, and it can be dropped directly into a game. It can easily be expanded to a night of adventure and it was fun to read.

I love articles that can replace DM fiat in what feels like a balanced and well-thought out manner.
