Sounds like an interesting idea, but unfortunately I don't have Weapons of Legacy. I would be interested in seeing Alakast as one, though.
Then I guess I will have to think up something myself. I'll let you know about it.

Has anyone already thought something up to use the Weapon of Legacy rules on the quarterstaff Alakast?
I was thinking About doing that But have not Written it up Yet. As

I took the concept and ran with it--I don't really like the way that WoL treats it, so I ended up with a 5-step weapon, which I thought was really cool. Basically, Alakast was a deva like Nidrama who was bound to the staff and as it progressed, it developed intelligence and more powers. If I recall correctly, the last step ended with it being +10 on either side, but had an ego of somewhere in the mid-20s.
Of course, the day after I wrote it, my drive bit the dust and I lost it. But maybe somebody can take what I remember and come up with something.

Well here are the crunchy bits for the one I plan to use in my game once we get that far. I haven't fleshed out the story bits or the legacy rituals yet.
Alakast
+1 evil outsider-bane Quarterstaff (good aligned for damage reduction) (both sides)
7th level: Creature Compass: Evil Outsider
8th level: See Invisibility(CL5)
10th level: Magical Cipher (detect magic, read magic, arcane mark at will)
12th level: +2 evil outsider bane (both sides)
13th level: Break Enchantment (CL11)
16th level: +3/+2 evil outsider bane
17th level: +3 evil outsider bane (both sides)
18th level: Wizardry 2
20th level: Wizardry 3
(use table 4-6 WoL p186 for determining personal costs)

OK, here's a draft for my version of Alakast as a Weapon of Legacy. I've made my version of Alakast as a shortspear, since that would be more useful than a quarterstaff for my party (the party tank, who's also a Scion of Surabar, uses shortspear as the weapon of choice). I also used Fiendkiller's Flail as a base.
Alakast
Alakast is a shortspear with a spearhead forged from an amalgam of cold iron and silver, and a smooth haft of mithral.
Nonlegacy Game Statistics: +1 cold iron shortspear; Cost 4,604 gp; Damage 1d6+1; Weight 3 lb.
Omen: Weapon glows when demons or devils are within 25 feet. Your eyes emit a white glow when the weapon glows.
Legacy Rituals
Knowledge is Power: You must acquire 2 ranks (or 2 additional ranks) in the Knowledge (Planes) skill. These ranks can be taken at any rate you choose, so long as you have them all by 8th level. Cost: 2,500 gp. Feat Granted: Least Legacy (Alakast).
Touch of Mount Celestia: You must spend an entire day meditating and praying in a temple dedicated to a deity from the House of the Triad. Cost: 12,500 gp. Feat Granted: Lesser Legacy (Alakast).
Banish the Abyssal Blood: In a single encounter you alone must one or more evil outsiders with the baatezu or tanar'ri subtype with a total Encounter Level of at least 15. Alakast is the only weapon you are allowed, but you can use any spells or innate abilities you possess. Cost: 40,500 gp. Feat Granted: Greater Legacy (Alakast).

Legacy Item Abilities
All the following are legacy item abilities of Alakast.
Scourge of Fiends (Su): At 5th level and higher, while you wield Alakast, it is considered a cold iron and silver weapon for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction.
Protection from Evil (Sp): Beginning at 6th level, once per day on command, you can use protection from evil as the spell. Caster level 5th.
Sense Fiends (Su): At 9th level and higher, you can detect any creature with the baatezu or tanar'ri subtype within 60 feet, as if using the detect evil spell. Caster level 5th.
Strength of Heavens (Su): At 10th level, when wielding Alakast against an evil outsider, you gain a +2 morale bonus on Strength.
Banish Fiends (Sp): Beginning at 17th level, once per day when you issue the command "Fiends depart!" and gesture with Alakast, you force evil extraplanar creatures out of your home plane, as the banishment spell. The save DC is 20, or 17 + your Charisma modifier, whichever is higher.
Planar Ally (Sp): Beginning at 19th level, once per day as a move action, you can use planar ally as the spell. Caster level 15th.
