I wanted to check my math / make sure this item is possible...
This ring continually provides its wearer with life-sustaining nourishment. The ring also refreshes the body and mind, so that its wearer needs only sleep 2 hours per day to gain the benefit of 8 hours of sleep. The ring must be worn for a full week before it begins to work. If it is removed, the owner must wear it for another week to reattune it to himself. The endure elements property of this ring protects the wearer against harm from being in a hot or cold environment. The wearer can exist comfortably in conditions between -50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit (without having to make Fortitude saves). The wearer’s equipment is likewise protected.
This ring doesn’t provide any protection from fire or cold damage, nor does it protect against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth.
Faint conjuration; CL 5th; Forge Ring, create food and water, endure elements; Price 3,250 gp.
Basically, following the rule for that states you add 75% of a secondary property to an item, I added 750 gp to the cost of a Ring of Sustenance. Is this kosher?

Why would you think that this would be overpowered?
The real question is whether I was correct in using the 75% multiplier, instead of the 150% one. According to the DMG, secondary (yet similar) powers on an item should be priced as follows: (most expensive power * 100% price) + (second most expensive power * 75%) + (all other powers * 50%). I used this method in calculating the above ring.
Now, there is also the rule that stats dissimilar power prices should be multiplied by 150%. It's a difference between the ring costing 3,250 gp and 4,000 gp. Obviously, not a big deal - I just wanted to make sure I got it right.
My thinking was that, endure elements could justify the 75% multiplier. If I had used resist energy instead (to make a Ring of Sustenance / Energy Resistance), it would require the 150% multiplier.
Does that help?

I think it's balanced. The spell you're adding also has a 24 hour duration, so as long as the additional ability continues to take a full week to assimilate to the owner, I see no problems with it.
