a couple of weeks ago someone posted a message with a link to www.planewalker.com
the link took you directly to a gods list for all the gods ever to be in D&D and forgotten realms.
when you go to the planewalker site now it is a dead link
does anyone have the new link, as this would be a very useful supplement to have. if no link does anyone have anything with all the gods on as it is annoying when you have to have loads of books to hand when you could have it all on one list.

but when you have a mage that has a high concentration. and can do a defensive casting concentration check to ignore the free attack thats when it gets annoying that hes using claw bracers to ignore no weapon attack of opportunity?

it is what i thought but i was exploring other avenues.

we were thinking of puting it in as a house rule, that if you are using a weapon which you are not proficient with you provoke an attack of opportunity.

as we have a mage in the party with claw bracers without being proficient in them, and he only uses them to stop attacks of opportunity and thus he never has to put his weapon away to cast spells, and in a way it is power gaming on his side.
so we thought we would bring in the above house rule to stop him and any others doinf similar things

no i meant would the attacker get an attack of opportunity against the wizard as he isn't prpficient with a bastard sword, as if he was using his hands without unarmed combat profiency the attacker would get a free attack as he isn't profient. i think it would make sense that if you are not proficient with a weapon your attacker should get a free attack as because you are not proficient with the weapon how would you know how to defend yourself with it?

Ring of Sustenance (Endure Elements) wrote:

This ring continually provides its wearer with life-sustaining nourishment. The ring also refreshes the body and mind, so that its wearer needs only sleep 2 hours per day to gain the benefit of 8 hours of sleep. The ring must be worn for a full week before it begins to work. If it is removed, the owner must wear it for another week to reattune it to himself.

The endure elements property of this ring protects the wearer against harm from being in a hot or cold environment. The wearer can exist comfortably in conditions between -50 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit (without having to make Fortitude saves). The wearer’s equipment is likewise protected.

This ring doesn’t provide any protection from fire or cold damage, nor does it protect against other environmental hazards such as smoke, lack of air, and so forth.

Faint conjuration; CL 5th; Forge Ring, create food and water, endure elements; Price 3,250 gp.

Basically, following the rule for that states you add 75% of a secondary property to an item, I added 750 gp to the cost of a Ring of Sustenance. Is this kosher?

from doing the same as what you did i got exactly the same price, so in my view you are right

heres one thats been a debate in our group.
- when you are unarmed only with fist an opponent with a weapons gets an attack of opportunity. But if you are a monk which is proficient with its fists (unarmed attack) your opponent doesn't get an attack of oppoortuntity.
- So if you are say a mage useing a bastard sword (which the mage isn't proficient with) would your attacker get an attack of opportunity as you are like the unarmed person who isn't proficient with his/her fists?
Trocky one I would like to hear peoples views on this, or rules written down if anyone has any

Kudos to Eric Boyd for his web enhancement recently posted on the WotC DnD website. An excellent, quick-reference-type, table on the noble families of Waterdeep. I'm not really good at creating links, but I've pasted the web address for anyone who is interested.

cheers for that mate

i didn't think they stacked but i wanted it in writing so that people in our group saw that others agreed

in your opinion does keen and improved critical stack.
some people say it does and others dont.
i would like to hear others opinions as personally i think it is too powerful if it does!

my first character was a female paladin of torm.
and the reason for that was because i was eventually persuaded to play by a workmate in 1996 and he said he would make me a character. she is now lvl 17 and a member of the harpers.
extremely hard character. not played her for years since second edition rules, but i have converted her to 3rd edition.
she has an intelegent holy avenger of cause. also there are no rules for greater equars in 3ed ed so i now jave a celestial unicorn as a bonded mount. also her item ''talisman of pure good'' is now an extremely hard item

does charm monster work on plant creatures.
as there is no charm plant spell.
and control plants is the plant version of dominate

if you have say a large steel shield +1 with the animate enhancement on, can you use a two handed weapon efficiently.
e.g. how would you weild a greatsword with good effect with an animated shield in the way. where would the shield be to give you the ac bonus without getting in the way on the sword.
as for example when you use a tower shield with any weapon you also grant your foe ac bonuses and cover, so i would have thought using an animated large steel shield while using a two handed sword would have a similar effect?

can a mage use to bucklers at the same time (one on each arm)
and still gain both the ac adjustments of them (+1 ac for each one) even if he/she is not profiecient in shields?

if using a spell storing ring you put in a maximised fireball.

would it be classed as a lvl 5 spell or a lvl 3 spell
Actually, it'd be a 6th level spell for the purpose of storing in a ring, since Maximize is a +3 Spell Level adjustment. An Empowered Fireball (+2 Spell levels) would be a 5th level spell for purposes of a ring of spell storing.

sorry i meant 6th lvl (lol) mistype on my behalf

so i take it the dc would be 10 + 6 (spell lvl) plus int mod.

if you are wearing masterwork full plate with an armor check penalty of 5 can you with magic enhancements bring the check penalty down to 0.
it may sound stupid but if you brought full plate down to 0 it would be stupid as even with things like weightless surely you are still encumbered as the plates aren't somehow going to let you move freely as wearing no armor, so surely you can't bring the penalty to less than 1.
i can't find in any of the rules that say you can't or can

our house rules are:-

- if you are a cleric, paladin are any type of divine casting casting. you get 10% discount at a temple of your deity in your home region

- we have a critical hit and fumble chart similar to the ones mentioned

- sorcerers/sorceress dont need spell components for spells with mundane cheap components

The Shackled City hardcover is better than ice cream.

Discuss.

at the moment we as a group are doing tat adventure.

we are on the 10th installment at the moment, and i must say it is one of the best adventures i have ever took part in (i have been playing D&D for 10 years).
i would rank it alongside missions such as
- the rod of seven parts
- underdark box set missions
- thw wyrmskull throne
- forth from cormyr
- how the mighty are fallen

definately worth buying the whole set and most definately the best 3rd ed mission ive been part of

So I've been working on an idea I have for a critical threat feature: a paladin possessed by a powerful fiend. As I read through the Book of Vile Darkness, however, I found that a possessed creature receives little-to-no "stat boost," so to speak, from being possessed.

While I understand that normally it wouldn't make sense for a possessed person to receieve benefits (possession is not, after all, a good thing) I figured that since the fiend and its fallen paladin host have been bound together for such an extended period of time (think centuries), they have, for all practical purposes, melded together.

So, to finally get to the question - does anyone know of any other rules of possession or prestige classes in other WotC products that I can possibly use?

Ha. Long prelude to a really short question. Sorry 'bout that.

i would have to agree as a house rule to probably add the fiendish template to the paladin. but this could also be the basis to rid the fiend of the possesion and to bring the paladin back to holyness

does anyone know if a wizard/sorcerer can cast spells whilt wearing claw bracers, as i cannot find any rules with say you can or you cant.

also would a wizard/sorceror suffer any penalties whilt wearing armor with the weightless enhancment?

i cant remember which book weightless is in but it is one of the core books.

but i remember it is a +2 enhancment and it makes you armor weigh nothing and the armor check penalty is 0.

but that wizard wearing claw bracers and casting at the same time is bathling me.
