If memory serves, Dragon had an issue on alternative curses. If not multiple issues on the subject. Anyone able to recall any of those issues?
P.S. What would be a nice touch here on the Dragon/Dungeon site would be to have a built in "master index" for all of the issues from the magazines... hehe :o)

While not on Paizo's site (and it only covers Dragon, not Dungeon) there's the infamously handy DragonDex:
http://www.aeolia.net/dragondex/
If it was in Dragon, it'lll be listed here.

DragonDex is probably one of the best indexes for Dragon articles around - though it certainly has some limitations.
Searching through for the word "Curses" (including finding a "category" with that name) we get:
- "Foiled, No Curses" by Robin D. Laws in issue 284
- "Curses!" by Ed Greenwood in issue 77
- "Curses" by Ed Rice in issue 229
- "Curses: Never get even again - get ahead!" by Harold Pitt in issue 29
- "Curses are Divine" by Mark Keavney in issue 167
- "Beware of Quirks and Curses" by Holsinger & Peterson in issue 34
- "Nasty Additions To a DM's Arsenal" by Richard Fichera in issue 77
- "Insidious Items" by Timothy T. Murphy in issue 331
- "Bazaar of the Bizarre: Blessings In Disguise" by Lloyd Brown III in issue 263
- "Putting Evil To Good Use" by Jonathan M. Richards in issue 215
Hope that helps. :)
As for unique curses - I once cursed one of my players so that his character could only speak in rhymes. It was quite amusing - and more difficult than he thought.
edit: bah - Chris got to it first; now I look like a copy-cat. :P
