i've found the supplements to be my most valuable assets for the campaign so far (other than the giant greyhawk map). I've compiled the maps and handouts into a 3 ring binder along with the npc potriats. My PC's can flip through the book to remind them of things (we are 8 sessions into the Age of Worms and somtimes the players are worse than Gandalf with their love of the halflings leaf).

Can we get another update? Is GenCon going to delay this?
I hope this isn't a pattern of delay we'll see throughout the adventure path. I'm starting 3FoE tonight, and will probably catch up to the magazine within a few months. I don't want this to hold up my games.
Anyone else running Eberron AoW? How are you doing without the conversion?

I am running it in Eberron and so far so good. My PCs are still exploring the Whispering Carin, having just found the mysterious suits of red leather armor. I am going to tie the armor to a group from Morgrave University.

I'm guessing late next week. A few pieces are taking longer to assemble than I'd hoped. I may post the Eberron conversion notes on this thread to help you out if I remember to check it tomorrow.
Can we get an update on this? It's been almost two week since I posted this and it's beginning to feel like the Overload wait. I hope we get these updates on a more regular basis in the future, preferably before the mag hits store shelves.

Bocklin |

Seeing as he is on his way back from Indy right now - no - he can't give you an update.
GenCon? You've heard of it? Much of Paizo's staff is on their way back from it now.
Be patient.
What? They do not have permanent, remote, wireless connection to their office desktop?? You actually mean that they will not be working for us in the plane that takes them back to Seattle from Indy??? God these people are lazy and slow... ;-)

It's almost three weeks after writing this. People have had EaBK for over a month now. Can we please have an update on when this will come out?
And will we need to wait another month and a half before seeing a conversion for 127?

I am betting that all the whining and complaining that some people did about the Overload screwed it up for those of us who waited patiently. Personally, I cannot blame the Staff. They do these things for FREE, and for all you who are going to say that it is part of your subscription, bull. They do all that extra work, which is not part of your subscription price, as a favor to us, then y'all B***h until there is no end.
Thanks Mr. Easter Bunny...bok, bok!!

Takasi |

Personally Patman, I bought a Dungeon subscription for Keith Baker's Eberron conversions. I would not have dedicated an entire year of a campaign without them. I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just airing my wants as a subscriber. Charge extra for the web supplements for all I care or figure out a way to put them in the magazine; just provide them please and in a timely manner. When the second adventure path was announced they didn't mention anything about publishing the conversion notes as a "free bonus".

The 126 supplement is behind schedule due to Gen Con. Upon returning from said convention, we pretty much had to scramble (and are still scrambling) to get issue 128 out the door. We'll be in crisis mode on this one for a couple more days, after which we'll be able to get back to tending less critical matters like the supplement.
It'll be online as soon as we can manage it.

Thanks, James! As I said, I've found the supplements to be extremely helpful to my campaigns. The art works as a great handout, and the maps are extremely helpful to me. Not having to flip back and forth in the mag for the maps is great. So, please, keep up the good work, I promise I'll be patient.
Squid
p.s. Are any of the Paizo staff going to DragonCon? I'd love to thank you guys and gals in person for all the good work that you've done.

Sean and everyone else,
I am sorry if I seemed a bit like a jerk, but they do give us these supplements without charge. They are not part of the subscription cost, and I have seen nowhere, where they are obligated to do them. Is it nice, yes, are they useful, very much so. I am eagerly waiting as well, but I think most of us are experienced GM's who can make do if it is a little behind schedule, due to a small occurence like GenCon.
Seriously, I apologize, but sometimes peoples sense of entitlement on these boards and others, just rub me the wrong way. And we hear people harping about things all the time. There is 3x more complaining than "thank you's" I for one, am enjoying running this AP, and wish to thank all the people who contributed to it. I know it has been fun, and with real life, it saves me a hell of a lot of time designing a campaign myself.
Good gaming!!!

Gladly... although I don't drink, I believe in the sentiment! I'm very impressed by Paizo, and I plan on backing them in as many ways as I can. Heck, I'd love to work for them... maybe I'll submit something. It's been a long time since I thought about it, but I think some of my stuff is worthy.

shoot...My group is now finished with Blackwall keep. And no supplement. Boo Hoo. and I hate dopplegangers and have no intention of buying issue #127. So, I guess I'll check back in December for the downloads I need.
LOL
keep up the good work guys!
James Jacobs said there will be advice for running the adventure without dopplegangers in 127.

That's not quite what I said (or at least, not quite what I intended to say). The adventure uses doppelgangers quite extensively. One section is pretty tricky, and isn't for every gaming group; we provide advice on how to alter this encounter in the issue to be run differently.
That said, if you don't like doppelgangers, you can turn them into other creatures like aranea or even human sorcerers. Same goes for any adventure, really. Don't like lizardfolk, yet you want to run Encounter at Blackwall Keep? Replace all them lizardfolk with bullywugs or bugbears or human barbarians.

And then, once issue 128 gets finalized and out the door, they'll need to concentrate on getting issue 129 edited and finished on time. It's a never-ending cycle of doom and gloom! :D
P.S. Oi, methinks the "supplement" assignment is probably lying beneath a bag of doritoes on the desk an intern who's busy playing Guild Wars in an obscure cubicle down by the janitor's closet....

I'm amazed at how fast some people are at playing these adventures. I barely got issue 126 last week and people here are already through playing the complete adventure... :-)

That particular adventure was rather fast. My group finished it in one 7 hour session. Most take 3 to 4. Not a bad adventure, just very straightforward.

Me too! You guys are insane! I don't think anyone should begin the campaign until at least half of it is out. That way you'll benefit from all the corrections, additions, etc. that are bound to come out.
I may even wait for the AoW hardcover... *grin*

Cardinal_Malik wrote:and I hate dopplegangers and have no intention of buying issue #127.How can anyone hate dopplegangers? They're so cute and cuddly. Not to mention the way the greater ones will eat you brains. Hoorah!.
Plus, my justification for allowing changelings in Greyhawk is that they are third or fourth generation half-breed doppelgangers. It's going to be fun when my party's rogue meets these guys:
DG: *sniff sniff* "You... are of my kin?!!"Rogue: "Err, huh?"
DG: "Maim the half-breed!"
heheheh...

Malachias Invictus |

It's never coming out. Thank god my group just finished the Whispering Cairn last night and it took them five 4 hour sessions to do so.
Whew! I thought it was just *my* group that was running slow. We have had two full sessions, and have only managed to get into monkeying with the sarcophagus. They are currently running from the acid beatles.

Takasi |

Our group meets once a week for about 6 hours. We just wrapped up our 8th session with the party defeating the Ebon Aspect and Dourstone's trial.
Normally I would move the plot forward with hooks for Encounter at Blackwall Keep but due to the lack of Keith Baker's Eberron conversion notes I'm going to have to stall the party. I plan on running some side quests related to the mine manager's fighting over Dourstone's mines. Knowing their party, they'll wrap these up in one session.
Can we get another estimate on when this will be ready? Erik mentioned posting the Eberron notes over a month ago, any chance we can see these soon?
And we have 127 now. Any estimate on when we'll see notes for that issue?

Loops! |

Dito Takasi! One big session a week, right from the start: Cairn explored, Alastor laid to his final rest, Filge killed, Ebon Triad defeated, Ebon Aspect slaughtered, poor miners freed, Dourstone sentenced and executed, Smenk chased out of town (to the Free City, plotting revenge) Rival adventurers humiliated ("see you in the arena..."), Feral Dog bought, Base ("Fant-Manor" Drmg#333) established and reconstructed soon, near mine explored an re-opened, Alustan befriended, all present hints and keys discovered... time to move on...
or to take a break...
To DMR: We´re not "insane", just "up to date and state of the art" :D. Half a year is a long time to wait for such a good campaign (and there is PTOLUS to be published in half a year, isn´t it?) I can´t wait that long anyway.
But perhaps it was a mistake to play the campaign "right from the start", when it was published...
Sorry, but I hope there will be no AOW-Hardcover. I was angry when I heard about previously unreleased stuff (a whole adventure!) being released now in the new Shackled-City-Hardcover-Book. I bought every issue of Dungeon and that´s my
reward for it...
Happy Gaming
