I got my book yesterday, and quickly started looking through it. I noticed the artwork spread throughout the book. I loved seeing all of my favorite pictures (I noticed that Vhalantru's shadow had been removed), now printed on such nice paper and all.
I really appreciate all of the new artwork that's been included, as well. I think my favorite of the new artwork is Jeff Carlisle's illustration of Cauldron, after the partial eruption. But I really dig all of the new stuff.

I would agree. The artwork really adds a lot to the game. Since I play online it makes it really nice to display the pics for the players.
As a result I am very much hoping for a map/artwork file like they do for Dungeon Magazines... it would be very, very nice (I would have to go through and cut up the PDF into individual JPGs, but that isn't tough... much faster and cleaner than scanning)

Although mug shots of NPCs would be very useful to print out
I'll second that! I've barely scratched the surface of the book, and already I can't wait to run my group through it. I'm a sucker for player handouts, and it would be a shame not to use the art that's already been created for the book.
I wasn't running a game when the adventures were first published in Dungeon, so I didn't really follow them at the time. What prompted me to get the book was the *huge* thread here at Paizo asking DMs for their feedback about the adventures so that the book would be as good as possible. I figured if they were committed enough to solicit feedback from people who had run the adventures, and then to actively participate in the discussion about what needed fixing and why, then they were also really committed to making the best product possible.
So congrats to all involved on a job well done, because all the hard work has really paid off!

Can't remember if it contains NPC images or not, but there's a PDF of player handouts for the Shackled City hardcover available here.

Oh, good; I was looking forward to this. I liked the mention in the book that most readers would likely not want to cut up the pages.
No NPC portraits, though; sigh ;p

you could try the heroes of cauldron and the vilains of cauldron desktops. They provide an immage of most of the important NPC's. they're on the downloads page between issue 121 and 122. Here's a link
