Shacked City at Amazon?

Will Shackled City be available through Amazon.com? It's been asked a few times over the past few weeks, but I haven't seen a definite response yet. I keep checking the Amazon site every few weeks, but haven't seen it listed; I'd like to take advantage of their deep discount on hardcovers and free shipping. Also, does anyone know the ISBN for this book (that will help in searching for it from various vendors).

Rocketeer:

We don't sell directly to Amazon.com. I am not sure how they get most of their books. We sell through distributors exclusively and they are free to sell the products to whomever they want, including Amazon. Why they haven't is a mystery to me.

I have also been waiting for Amazon, I'll give em a few more weeks. It's now available (for preorder, out July 28th) at BarnesAndNoble's website (for 20% off). The ISBN is 0977007103.

Yeah.. but this is B&N's price

List Price: $79.95
B&N Price: $63.96
(Save 20%)
Member Price: $57.56

I thought the price was 59.95... or is that Paizo's price?.. cuz if so...

I saw the price on the B&N site and it looks like a screw-up to me. Who knows. It is starting to show up on ebay though for around $42-45ish + shipping.

The suggested retail price is indeed $59.95, which is also the price we're selling it for on paizo.com. We'll see if we can give Barnes and Noble a poke.

I dunno if this is against any rules or anything.. if it is please remove.. but I just ordered mine through B&N, and I found an online coupon good for 5 bucks off orders over 50 dollars, plus free shipping.. here's the code "XPR9PTN". So if you wanted to pick up another book or something.

Just thought I'd share the wealth since it seemed okay to talk about prices and purchasing outside of paizo.

The coupon expires on the 31st tho..

That's still more expensive than buying it from www.frpgames.com, but do as you will (it isn't that far off... mine was $49.99).

Vic Wertz' poke was apparently successful.
It's now $47.96 at BN (20% off list price of $59.95)

It's still not showing up on Amazon though. Curious.

Interestingly enough, the Barnes & Noble site now says that "A new copy is not available from Barnes & Noble.com at this time." Not sure if that means they've decided not to carry the book after all or if they're just temporarily sold out.

any other online or brick stores out there selling the HC? i'm guessing that B&N are all sold out. maybe they (and others like amazon) didn't realize just how popular this book is going to be. maybe it could go on the NY times best sellers list if we all buy one.

We've heard a rumor that they list anything with an ISBN, whether they actually order any copies or not. I'd be interested to know if anybody actually sucessfully purchased a copy from them.

Riiight. Of course, as you know, we've changed nothing. According to the story we heard, Barnes and Noble lists nearly everything with an ISBN, and if anybody orders something that they haven't actually picked up, *then* they try to figure out how to get it. So hopefully your e-mail means that Paizo, or one of our distributors, will be getting a call soon...

Ugh.. I figured I would goto B&N because I had a discount card and a coupon... why not eh?.. I didn't figure their business practices would that of.. "pay us to order it for you".. rather than.. "pay us to ship our already existing product".. Gee.. I hope I get it before Gen Con..

oooo.. update... stupid B&N
Items Shipping from Barnes & Noble.com

This part of your order is expected to ship on August 27, 2005

I wonder if I cancel this item, if they will screw me with the shipping charges for something less than 25 dollars (free shipping on 25 or more) already shipped, that I wouldn't have bought there, had I not ordered Shackled City... my butt feels tender.. I don't even get a nice bookplate cuz I was stupid and went for the cheaper price from a "reputable dealer"...

Amazon has a little-know URL for this type of thing:

http://www.amazon.com/o/subst/stores/catalog-builder/index.html

Hey, check this out; got to amazon.com and search for 0977007103. The search engine will bring up 0 results for amazon, and 2 results for searching on the web. Well those two results appear to be this thread . . . how's that for irony?

Hi there. So...one of the required fields for doing this is the ISBN. I'm not familiar with that, and I couldn't find it anywhere on this site. Can someone please supply that for me so that I can put a bug in Amazon's ear as well?

Sure - it's 0977007103. (It's been noted several times in this thread already.)
