I'm going to be running Age of Worms practically as soon as it arrives in the mail, but I would like to get my players thinking about their characters now. Do you have any info or recommendations I can share with my players as far as making their characters? For instance, I was planning on having them generate their characters with the point buy system. How many points would you recommend for Age of Worms (I was leaning towards 28...)? Also, is it still the case that the characters should all be from Diamond Lake when the campaign begins?
Of course, I don't expect any spoilers or anything, but any character generation related info I can pass along would be appreciated!

28 should be fine for point-buy.
Age of Worms does assume that the PCs are from Diamond Lake. There's an extensive backdrop on Diamond Lake in issue #124, along with the 1st adventure in the series. There's a LOT of advice and inspiration for creating characters in that backdrop, including about a page at the end that offers suggestions for how to tie all of the core races and classes into the town.
Which is a way of saying you should probably wait until you have issue #124 before you have your players roll up characters.

This is my first time posting here, so here is a big hello to everyone! ::waves::
Now onto the question. I read the small blurb of the first adventure path and how it references the Wind Dukes and the story is somehow tied to Kyuss.
How will these very Greyhawk specific icons transfer over to the Eberron setting? From the dribs and drabs of information that I've been able to piece together I think the adventure would be best set near Q'Barra.. but I'm not certain of that.
How much information for converting the adventure to other settings will you provide?
Thanks,
Renshai

Supposedly Mr. Baker the scribe for Eberron will be addressing that over the course of the series.

Eric Boyd will be providing conversion notes for running Age of Worms in the Forgotten Realms. Keith Baker will be doing the same for Eberron. We had hoped to be able to fit these sidebars into the magazine, but there wasn't enough room, so they'll be in the online web supplement for #124, I believe.
As for Age of Worms' story being tied to Kyuss... I suppose that's true. In the same way Ahab ends up tied to Moby Dick. Which is to say... Kyuss is a fairly important part of the Age of Worms.

Good GOD...
There's no way you can run Age of Worms in the Realms, unless you set it on one of the absent continents. Virtually every inch of the realms is now covered with an Evil Serpent Kingdom that doesn't have a human realm in it.
Where would you set it?

How long will it take before the conversion notes are released?

I plan to run my realms game set in the moonshea charactors are roled up with there own family histories. How easy will it be to run this path from here or should i concider another part of the realms.
Another question is sence these two paths have ref. of the Wind Dukes will there be a tie into a remake rod of seven parts adventure in the future.

Anybody plan on adding their own npcs and businesses in Diamond Lake? I'm toying with the idea of putting The Styes in place of the Docks (Mr.Dory, the landlord of the tenetment where one of the Pc's is living with her human mother:"Wait til they'll get a load of me.")I also want to add some of the more unsavory elements from the town of scuttlecove(Dungeon# 96?)
