There has been alot of discussion about this and i wanted to try it on another message board
Is a basic warforged with composite plating considered to be wearing light armor for class that say u cant get special abilities (like monk and ninja)?
page 23 of Races of Eberron states that warforged monks do gain the armor bonus from composite plating and do still gain monk abilities. I understood this as composite plating does not interfere with being a monk. This would probably apply to Ninja as well. There is a also a feat in Races of Eberron, called unarmored body, that gets rid of your composite plating. This is mainly for spellcasters but I suppose a monk could take it, however if you can get the light fortification and +2 bonus from composite -plating and still be a monk, then just take it.
Everyone should buy races of eberron, even if you don't play in eberron. Its a great book and shifters, changelings, Kalashtar, and the mighty 'Forged are great additions to every campaign.
