Flaws for characters

Dragon Magazine General Discussion

I've noticed that you were writing flaws for specific classes the last few months and I was wondering when you were going to do one for monks. I am starting a new campaign next month and would like to put flaws into my monk character.

Pheonix

I think they will in time Jason. They still have not got to the wizard yet either but its comming down to the ones you and me want :).

I also enjoy the flaws and some are interchangeable as long as you meet the prerequisite, like i have a human barbarian 2nd level that has the flaws solitary paragon from the flaws for paladins, loudmouth from flaws for bards so they are easily interchangeable but i agree some of the class specific ones will be great once you get to the wizards and monks...

I would love to see them go through Flaws for Psions, Psychic Warriors, Wilders, Soulknives, And the core classes from the Complete series.

Luckly they will be doing a big artical on flaws in the next dragon mag :).

As an alternative to flaws, there is also a little-known thing called the Anti-feat. (Detailed in the Kingdoms of Kalamar Villain Design Handbook.)

Essentailly, you can take one anti-feat at each level (randomly determined - d1000) to receive an extra feat.
A caveat - if you lose a prerequiste feat from a feat tree, you lose all access to that feat tree until you retake the feat that you lost.

P.S. - There are two versions of the Villain Design Handbook. Version 3.0 is hardcover, while the reprint (Ver 3.5) is softcover. I THINK that both versions retail for $ 19.99 U.S.D.

I'd love to see some Flaws for the complete classes (such as the Warmage) I just made a warmage caracter and i made up a flaw for him, its not a very good flaw and I would love the kind people at Dragon to make better ones.

P.S. They allready made flaws for wizards (issue #333)
