Scourge of Worlds

Scourge of World: D&D Interactive DVD

Just thought I'd bring this up here since I got a demo copy with Dungeon Mag.

Picked this up on a whim (never bothered to watch the demo) and I was really surprised! It was well worth the $$$. The graphics are good, the story is entertaining, and it's great for sittin' back with the friends. We're currently working it into a drinking game 8)

I hope to see more products like these! There is definately room for improvement, but I know that with some criticism and support the future releases will get better and better.

Good stuff!

I second that! Scourge of Worlds was really great. Every person I have shown it to has loved it so far. Even non-gamers.

I hope that they come out with more interactive DVD's. My friends and I want to know what happens next LOL

It was great. I played it again and again for a week or so.
There is one thing. I managed to get three of four possible endings. I don't remember which ones I solved but I think it was like "All dead", "All OK", "Dragon", but I couldn't get the fourth one.

I never heard of this before. Is there a link?

There's a Happy, Happy ending... :) There's 2 all ok ones. I won't ruin it for ya tho.

Haven't watched mine with any gamer friends either.. everyone who has seen it though has had a blast watchin' it. Makes for a good group effort! We played at a party I threw last weekend and everyone was trippin' out when the party got wasted! =)

So there are 2 All ok and 2 bad endings, and one happy happy ending?!? I thought there were only 4?

I think there was a Demo CD that came with a Dungeon Magazine? Either that or I just got the Demo in the mail seperate, which the only reason I can fathom is because I have a Dungeon subscription...

NE way, it's good. I got mine at Walmart, so you should be able to pick it up just about anywhere.

The demo CD came in Dragon#309-the incursion issue not Dungeon.
Overall it was very good.I hope there will be more.

Cold Steel, you're right. That's one of the few Dragon magazine's I own... I ordered it along with the Dungeon including "Lich Queen's Beloved"

Yeah, it's good. Want to see more!

Scourge of Worlds was one of my best gaming purchases ever. I turned it into a gaming night with one of my groups of players: Adventurers deciding which path to take, DM in charge of the remote...It was a blast.

Keep us updated on the idea of the drinking game!

Anyone else find the awesome animation on the displacer beast and Mialee's decision about how to deal with some orcs...

Hope that is not spoiling too much!

Mild Spoiler:

Ok, without trying to give too much away. There are 4 endings: You can succeed and secure the Arix Orthian (sp?); you can fail and Barathion gets the artifact (killing everyone); you could succeed in getting it, only to have Ariadne winning in the end; and you can save the world from the Arix Orthian AND save Baration, too (that'z the ultra happy ending).

Yea, we like drinking! :)

I saw those scenes hehe. I'm particularly fond of Lidda. She's like the female version of one of my Players' characters. Only he's a bit worse with the stealing bit and a bit more sarcastic. good times...

Save Barathion? How???? Tell Me!!!!

To save Barathion, hmmm. Been there, done that. But with so many decisions to make it is hard for me to remember... I'll give it a shot...

1 Let Barathion go
2 Regdar's idea
3 Wake up Regdar
4 Go on alone
5 Go after Orcs
6 Lidda's plan
7 Cast spell
8 Continue alone
9 Go after Barathion
10 Tell Barathion the truth

I took your advice and replayed the CD. It worked like a charm thank you so much!

I like Black Guy Oeridian Computer Animated Regdar more than I like White Guy Seul 3e Launch Regdar.

The voice acting in that was really good. Well, for the most part. Excellent considering the resumes of the people who were doing it. All the voices of the characters sound really familiar but their names on IMDB indicate that they have done nothing I would recognise. However Dan Hey is one of the animators and he also does the voice of Regdar. Thats kind of neat!

Aaron.

Liberty's Edge

I liked the concept of Scourge of Worlds, but IMO, there just weren't enough adventure paths and endings. It was also too short. It seems like the release was just a beta trial run for something even bigger and better. Let's hope so.

re: "their names on IMDB indicate they have done nothing"

That doesn't mean anything. Sometimes people work under pseudonyms for the opportunity to do these kinds of unique projects (and so there wouldn't be any other work listed under that name).
Or, they use another name cuz they're not sure it will be successful.
I mean, you've heard of "Alan Smithee" haven't you?

Yes, I bought it after watching the demo. It's lots of fun, plus my non-gamer wife enjoyed it.

I heard a rumor that there is an extended edtion of scourge of worlds with two more alternate endings. Any truth to this? does anyone got it yet? any comments? If the new endings are no good,i might as well save my swag.

I found this but can't seem to find any info that states what the extra content is. I would love to know too. I have the first DVD but have only been able to see 3 endings. I would love more,

I just bought a second hand copy of this today.I remember seeing in it walmart several years ago and never picking it up.My wife and i had a good time messing around with it.Did they ever produce any more of these? If not they should.

Thought it was decent. My kids enjoyed doing it. It is available on Netflix.

How do I find this DVD?
