I really enjoy the miniatures articles. I loved the Dragon's Hoard pullout map from a few issues ago. I'd like more on variant scenarios.
Jason Bulmahn really should be talking about this, but since I'm apparently the most talkative Dragon editor I'll chime in first. ;)
Jason is one of the top-rated D&D Miniatures players in the country, so he came in with some ideas of how to make our miniatures articles even cooler than they are now. Look for the touch of a fan and expert in forthcoming issues. :)

Thanks Mike,
I am hoping to make the Under Command articles a more exciting part of Dragon magazine. I would like to do new maps, terrain tiles and some exciting scenarios, all of which could be fun, not only for the skirmish player, but for your average roleplayer as well.

Nothing is totally useless for rpg's, you just need to be creative. After all you technically don't need anything besides your imagination for an rpg. Rather than say something is useless, you might want to spend a bit of time trying to think up ideas on how to use it for your game.

I notice that "Under Command" hasn't appeared since Dragon #328. Has the feature been cancelled? What Jason was proposing sounded promising and I'd hate to think those articles got tanked.
I definitely enjoyed getting the Dragon's Hoard map and the Mushroom Tangle tile. I'd like to see more of these types of inserts in the future. Maybe we'll see some articles or tiles designed to go with the upcoming Fantastic Locations products? I'm looking forward to Fane of the Drow and Hellspike Prison and think it would be great if Dragon or Dungeon would do something to accompany those products.

Under Command as a monthly feature went out jogging a few months ago, and, well, it doesn't look good.
We _do_ have some exciting plans for the miniatures game in the near future, however, including poster maps and mini-scenarios and things.
The column idea Jason put together will likely show up at some point, but it will more likely be a Big Deal with all of the production bells and whistles than a regular monthly feature.

Cool. Thanks Erik. As I said in the "Demonomicon" thread, I'd rather see infrequent material that is high quality than monthly material for the sake of being monthly. I look forward to seeing what you have planned.

Yup, I'd like to see more minis content too. Maps are always nice. Scenarii and alternative rules or mini games would be appreciated too, I'm still having the occasional CTF game using the rules you published in dragon 328. Under command was the main reason I bought my first Dragon (I found others since :) ). Still buying and enjoying it, only less so for the lack of mini articles.
