After Asylum

Shackled City Adventure Path

I know this is a bit early but I wanted to get everyone's initial thoughts. What do you other DMs have planned for after Asylum in next month's issue?

Being one that insists on having a good reason to take characters into epic levels, I was contemplating running the Razing of Redshore to prime the players for epic levels. I noticed that Life's Bazaar and Flood Season both mention a "distant capital city" in the back story. Given the size of Redshore, it made sense that it could be the capital city referenced to in the adventure path. It makes for a good tie-in. It also will get them there when the heroes of Cauldron are called upon to help out the country/kingdom with the events that happen in that adventure. (YOu can find it in Dungeon 92, if you are curious.) After that, I am not sure, but the Storm Lord's Keep (Dungeon 93) might be interesting as it is written for epic characters.

I like Redshore. It is a Chris West map. It seems smaller than Cauldron. (I haven't looked at the #'s). I think that Redshore should be in the Cauldron area. I don't think it can be a capital. It could be a great "town" near Caulron, but not the capial.

I was thinking of taking it to the city of Sigil. I have already foreshadowed it, but not that anyone would recognize. I'm thinking that the defeat of Adimarchus will bring a power struggle, including Grattz. Different Factions may try to get the party involved on their sides. Don't know yet. Just an idea.

Given the numerous planar jaunts in the Path, I think it would be pretty reasonable to have the party end up in Sigil. A group of 20th lvl clueless primes would be both terrifying and amusing for the inhabitants at the same time.
