I've heard of it, but never really paid much attention. Sell me on it. ;-)
It's near-future sci-fi, with Jessica Alba as a superhero in the fascist, poverty stricken remains of the US. But not an unstoppably powerful superhero like Superman - she's more like Captain America in being a few times stronger and faster than the average person, but not bulletproof or anything like that.
Because it was a TV show, rather than a movie, they had time to have ongoing storylines and stuff, which is the type of thing I like in these types of shows. The show only lasted two seasons, unfortunately, but that at least means that it's cheap to pick up on DVD, since there aren't many seasons to buy.

I don't know if Jessica Alba is the best selling point of that show for Tiny Coffee Golem :P Returns to reading LGBT Gamers thread
Actually, I was responding to Dragon78's query...
I posted my comment before reading the thread, so...For Tiny Coffee Golem:
The series does have some good-looking guys, too. (Although personal tastes will differ. Hmm... This sentence turned out a little too... 'kinky'... :p )
Namely:
Michael Weatherly (from NCIS and the male lead of Dark Angel - both seasons);
Jensen Ackles (of Supernatural fame - 1 episode [+ cameos] in season 1, & as a different character throughout season 2); and
Alimi Ballard (also acted in Numb3rs - season 1 mainly).
A fun series!
Carry on!

Essentially, the first season focuses on Alba's character, who is one of several geneticly experimented upon children who escaped the facility they were being held within right before some wackado bombed America into a third world nation with a massive EM Pulse, creating an impoverished police state within which we find Alba's character attempting to lead a "normal" life while playing the role of vigilante and occasional street guardian. The second season focused more on the other kids who escaped with her, and the attempts by them all to reconnect. There were a few moments of excellence in the show, as well as more than its fair share of shark jumping moments (the dog faced boy for one). It's well worth the watch, and you can grab the entire series on DVD for under 20 usually, or just watch it on Netflix.
