Second page of character sheet, top right. There is the heading "Spells" and sub-headings "Spells Known" "Spell Save DC" "Level" "Spells Per Day" "Bonus Spells". Can anyone tell me how this section works exactly? If the first column is number of spells learned in that level, wouldn't each of them have a different spell save dc? Look forward to your answers. Also right below that is the Domains/Specialty School section. How is that used?
So I was looking for some expert advice.. After a few game nights now I'm noticing wear and tear on the cards as we use them. I was hoping to pool together everyone's experience with what can be an intimidating endeavor, sleeving cards.
Hey thought I'd let you all know your advice was great. We got together and played through the the first three scenarios. The first one was rocky and we only beat it on the very last blessing. After that invigorating and emotional win everyone was hooked. There was lots of fun moments. We all enjoyed a moderate amount of role playing and they were excited to meet up again. The best quote "I'm gonna come in your dungeon" was hilariously interpreted as a threat rather than the intended declaration of movement.
So tomorrow I'm having friends over to play Pathfinder for the first time. I plan to start with rotr. These are all my close friends but we've never done anything like this, normally our get togethers consist of video games or watching football and drinking. While some of them seem excited and honestly interested in the game there are one or two who I feel could be a detriment to the experience the others have.
This question may have been asked before but I still appreciate the answers.
This question also reaches into other aspects of the game. For example many villains have powers that aren't explained why, beyond variation and upping the difficulty. For example Nualia deals 1d4 damage before the encounter. Why is this? I understand she's a cleric and capable of such feats but why does she gain "initiative" and attack first?

Hey thanks a lot I'll look into your suggestions. I'm also looking forward to what you create because your other submissions have been excellent.
So I've been using totally see through plastic deck boxes for each adventure deck and for the class decks. The only problem I have with them is that I have to scour the card on top to figure out which deck it is. Does anyone know of some downloadables that I could use as the top card for easy differentiation in each box?

That looks really great! I might be getting that this weekend. Thanks!
I just got all the class decks and now I'm wondering what everyone does to store these. I haven't sleeved and don't think I will anytime soon but I don't want to keep stuffing them into the boxes they came in. I was wondering if that broken token insert would fit an entire adventure path and the class decks unsleeved. I don't really intent to take part in organized play either so the ultra pro towers may or may not be the way to go. My other question is has anyone found a proven way to incorporate the good stuff from the class decks for play? Should I only include the unique cards from the class decks or all of it for each class being played or every single card? Has anyone experimented with these and how was it? Does it become boring when you add them all? If anyone has tried just was wondering what you experienced. Thank you everyone. Additional question... is there a second printing of rotr base set? It drives me crazy that the back of the cards is a different color from base set and adv 1 to everything else.
My girlfriend and I beat this scenario today and I was just wondering if someone could run through how exactly splitting up the checks to defeat monsters go, particularly villains. For example we were both at the same location and I encountered BARL... first and foremost I need to take on one of the checks correct? But does it matter which one?
Lets assume I want to do Combat 17 and then she wants to do Combat 21, if either of us fail is he totally undefeated?
Thanks for reading, the community you all have fostered is amazing, I love the way I have been treated with all the questions I have asked and all the messageboards I have read over all seem so kind and helpful. Thanks Everyone!
Theoretically, when you add more players doesn't this just make the game more challenging? Certainly you add more powers and different skills, and are then able to handle more situations but doesn't this bonus get undercut by the blessing deck? For example my girlfriend and I started by playing with just each the two of us and our two characters. So 30 cards in the blessing deck and 40 cards to search through for the villain. Then we added another player with another character. Three characters with 5 locations, 50 cards to search through and still only 30 blessings. So on and so forth.. shouldn't the blessing deck somehow reflect the number of characters being played? Let me know what you think and if this is indeed balanced. Thanks everyone.
Thanks for the responses on my other post, this community seems greatly resourceful and eager to help. I appreciate everyone taking the time to solve people's problems and answer beginner's questions. I have been thinking about the game a lot because it is so much fun to play and these two questions popped into my head. 1) How do the character decks fit into the adventure path? I imagine that there are the new characters, their specialty class card, their token card, and the rest are just banes and boons particularly that interact well with that class? 2) Has there been any talk of continuations of Rise of the Runelords? Perhaps a second adventure path for the characters to continue on? Or are there player generated content that is preferred for unofficial games after the first adventure path?
So my girlfriend and I just finished through the base set adventure. We are going to run through the burnt offerings deck this weekend. So here are my questions.. 1. When we start burnt offerings do we populate the locations with boons and banes from the baseset plus the new deck, or just the new deck. I know at some point you are supposed to start removing the basic cards from the cards you use, when is that exactly? 2. After the rise of the runelords adventure path b is done, finishing with "spires of xin-shalast" will our characters by maxed out? Will they be finished entirely? Is there anything after that for these characters? Can characters carry over to the skulls and shackles set? Or are other adventure paths to come in the future? 3. What is the relationship between rise of the ruinlords, skulls and shackles, and wrath of the righteous?? I look forward to getting some answers, thanks everyone! Thanks for the answers hawkmoon! I really appreciate it.
