GM DarkLightHitomi wrote: So why does omnimagic have starcraft crystals in it? I like the idea of the starcraft crystals as an energy source. It seems using crystals to power magic tech is a common theme, I just put a different spin on it. Plus you can always say its extra planatary/ planar and thereby bring it to different worlds with ease. As well they can be used for psionics / magic with ease of crossover.

I just reworked the Warforged into my campaign. You can call them Ironborn or Warforged. I loved the idea when it first came out in 3.5.

Thank Cricket. Have at it. Do you have a link to your homebrew?
I have been working on a whole magi tech society within Golarian. By severing Numeria in 1/2 and making the eastern portion a different kingdom based on magic tech from the fallen ships. I call it Omnimagic. It is a WIP but your welcome to browse/use any ideas you may find interesting. Here is the link: Omnimagic.

Awesome stuff! Love the gem grenades and the spark wands. Also great Wondrous Alchemical Items. You should definitely expand on those :)
so what about a ranged magical force weapon. Would it have the same properties as the melee weapon: ie These weapons ignore DR and can strike incorporeal creatures. They can be suppressed in an anti magic area or by a targeted dispel? What if the force weapon had an energy source that powered it? Would that make it cumbersome using it because you had to recharge it all the time or would that make it more balanced?
+5 Toaster wrote: Your welcome, it was fun. I might try another if the inspiration hits me. Have at it. :) Here at the other archetypes I am still working on. omnimagic archetype classes.
I adopted a class from Diablo 2 that focuses on Mage Slaying. I would be interested to see what you come up with and may want to borrow them for this class. Here is more on the class: Maiden of Horadrim.
The BO9S classes or other classes taking disciplines? For a non BO9S class they have to take the Blade Magic Study feat to gain access to one discipline. Certain classes can only access certain disciplines. To gain stances the class has to take Blade Magic Stance feat. If you lack any martial adept levels, your initiator level is equal to 1/2 your character level. I made some changes to the the disciplines themselves to make them increase in power as you gain levels. Does that answer your question at all? Let me know.
I have readapted BOS9 to my campaign and now call it Blade Magic. I was hoping to finsish it but the amount of Homebrew disciplines were staggering on the web. I tried to make an inclusive list of them all and their powers. This is as far as I got with it which you are welcome to borrow from. Blade Magic .

The Drows defeat left them shamed in the eyes of their people. The wandered the lands and fell into the thrall of the vampires and now they become Drow/ Vamp thralls ? Someone said wrote: But if the Vampires and Drow are staying in town how can I include Werewolves from the Ashwood?! For me Vampires and werewolves do not get along...ever. I love the backstory in Underworld. I always have campaigns pitting vampires against werewolves. The other thing I like so much is that Vampires love Fey blood. The purer the better. Elves are ok, but you get some real fey blood and it is like the most delicious thing in the world to them. Plus they get that limited walk in the daytime immunity and boost to all their abilities. So why not have the Vamps wanting fey blood. The werewolves can be protectors of the woods and clash with the vamps but they send in their new drow thralls to deal with it instead. The vamps gain the edge with the drows and so the werewolves need to bring in the big bad Vilkacis which half the clan object to cuz they can't control it. So now you got fey, vamps, drow and werewolves. Sounds like a fun time to me. I may want to run it too!
What I did is I made the spell like abilities be able to be used a certain number of times a day and have them increase in usage as they level up. Here is a link to what I have going. http://www.dragonarmyone.com/Home/index/fantasy-house-rules/character-creat ion2/magic/sorcerer-mana-points. For me if I push the pc's hard through a module and they have to say ' storm the castle' then have an hourly refresh time just would not make sense as they would have to rest to recharge there abilities so what do the big bads do? Just sit around waiting for them to get back? This way if the the pc needs to use his SLA in several fights back to back then he has that option. I also use action points and if they spend one then they get to use their SLA an additional time.
The back story is that when the Silver Mount fell is scattered a special crystal all over the region which I called Kyaladrian crystals. Kinda like from Starcraft. A major crystal fell and grew in the area of I call Antochian Empire and these crystals are filled with energy or omnimagic that they use to craft weapons, armor and such. However the Omnimagic also affected the poeple and children began being born with spell crafting that was granted by the crystals. Omnimagic is a form of magical energy that powers equipment, weapons and armor. Some can also channel this energy to perform healing and spells. Hope that helps some. If there is still confusion let me know. I guess a lot of this is in my head and I am trying to get it out so that it makes sense.
SOme points are very intriguing but yeah it is a lot of work to restructure some of these things. How far have you gotten on it so far. Maybe you set up a google page as a reference document? I am not sure about giving non caster classes limited spell casting. Just in my game it seems tough for them to get in a few attacks let alone then have a casting option unless it was able to grow with their level. Once complaint I have with some spells is they become totally useless at higher levels.
So I am working on some homebrew archetypes for a couple of classes for my campaign and I am having trouble fleshing out one of the archetypes. Background for the New Archtypes:
Antochia located just west of Numeria boosts a great militaristic society based on the use of Omni Magic which some say were culled from the remains of the strange technology found in Numeria. The Antochian Empire grew from the development of this 'magic-tech' which they call Omnimagic Antochian magical technology is second to none. Antochia believe in the Eternal Alchemy of omnimgic - the idea that all beings and magic in the world are a part or function of a greater purpose or "machine". Antochian life is built around the research of the Eternal Alchemy of omnimgic - antochians can join one of three massive colleges dedicated to this research. It is a Sorcerer Class archetype so I am trying to create a bloodline for it as well. I call it Omni Mage (Sorcerer Archetype)
If anyone has any ideas or input that would be really awesome. I appreciate it. I am totally stuck on this one.
I did some work on this. I used the Cryx. However I am having some technical issues. On saves. How does it work. Do they use will? Do they use Fort? if they are immune to mind effects because they are a hive mind, how does that work? https://sites.google.com/site/rpgsandiego/Home/ilysador-campaign-setting-1/ bestiary/cryx
A player wants to create a magic bonded item for his wizard that can cast scorching ray as a 3rd level caster at will. He said that the item is considered a use-activated or continuous use item with a Skill Requirement and a Class Requirement. Scorching Ray - use at will REQ skill: Spellcraft , REQ Class:wizard spell level 2 x caster level 3 x 2000 gp = 12,000gp (-10% - 30%... - 40%) = 7200gp Is this correct? 1st off - can he make an item that is at will like that? I tried to look into the rules but there is nothing specific that I can see. From what I have read it seems that the item has to be limited to 3-4x per day at least. Help!
Does anyone have a good source for riddles? I was trying to make some riddles up for an adventure. Here they are. Feedback is welcome. I kiss the wind with fire

Good idea. I would agree. I actually ran an adventure dealing with a similiar scenario and I know this spell would have come in very handy if the players had it.
What about an ability to apply meta magic feats? Arcane reduction starts magic resistance 5+ level? Is Arcane Shield a conscience effort? If it is more automatic would it be considered a reflection bonus? On Attuned weapon what about a magical modifier that increases with the characters level? For arcane avatar you may want to consider the character becomes a magical creature and is therefore not considered humanoid and there is not effected by spells targeted at humanoids. Just some thoughts.

Can you explain how you formulated the spell point cost?
