Hi all: I've been writing a first-level adventure set in Osirion as a prelude for Tomb of Pharaohs. I think there is a need for more adventures on such an exciting setting so I wrote my own take on it. I'm currently playtesting it with my local group but since we're not able to play very often, I'm looking for constructive criticism. I focused more on the social aspect of the game rather than combat and strategy (but don't be confused, there is tough combat there!). Also, I'm not sure about the licensing thing. I don't intend to charge people for it so I'm leaving it as "community use" license. Not sure how that works, I haven't seen any adventure on those terms. Any feedback is welcome. I really appreciate any and all constructive criticism. You can download it for free here Thanks to all!

I'm no expert on the topic but Black Diamond Games wrote a blog entry about this very recently. You might want to check it out. David
Hi Are, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm still wondering about the relative height of both A13-A14 and A8. In order for it to have a walking headroom in between the wooden platform and the floor of A8 on top, there should be at least 10'. That gives you two problems: a) There can be no drop between the A6-A7 and A8. b) The open bay in A8 would stand 15' over the river, which is kind of high to be picking up the water quickly (as suggested by the text). Something's missing, no? Thanks again!
I'm having problems with the Old Fishery map. I haven't seen this addressed anywhere so given that this is a two year old adventure, perhaps it's my fault. I'm asking for some clarifications, if somebody would be so kind: 1. As I understand, the "ground" floor is the upper floor. Everything there is on higher ground, except for room A8, which goes down to ground level (5' over sea level, as the text says). This means that the lower part of the western wall of the room separates A8 from A13 (A13 is also 5' over sea level, the text says). My problems are two: a) The windows on the eastern wall of A13 open to A8? the leftmost window should be under the flow of liquid that falls from A7 to A8? b) The door at the right hand side of A13 should open to A8 but obviously, it doesn't. Where is that wooden platform located with respect to the "ground floor"? 2. I have similar problems with the ship. The "ground floor" (upper floor) has a small boat, which doesn't appear in the "lower floor" (sea level)... why is that? What is the relationship between both wooden platforms on each side of the ship? is one up and the other one down? If so, I'm missing some poles supporting the upper platform in the "lower ground" map. Any help would be very welcome. I'm planning to run this very soon. Thanks in advance for your help!

I think I'll order K3 with this fancy PDF support and try it out... darn online sales: hopefully it comes with a return policy in case the Paizo PDFs (especially the novels) read like crap... :P I have a Kindle 2 and PDF display is very small - the whole page in the tiny screen at once. Zoom doesn't work and the only way to read PDFs is sideways and that's not great either. The only way I found PDFs to be palatable was converting them to the mobi format previously. Caliber will do that for you and will also keep your ebook library sorted but not in original pdf format. Same thing goes for novels, I always convert them to prc/mobi to make them readable. Just my experience, I hope it helps.

AS I understand it, this model will only apply in low-cost Microsoft-based hardware. There's nothing preventing you from buying a third-party clone PC and installing Linux (or ol' Win95 for that matter). You wouldn't get the Microsoft subsidy for the hardware but you wouldn't need to pay the monthly fee either. I would never pay for such a service from Microsoft but I can see how people on a very low budget might want to get a virtually free PC and pay per usage...

I went to Fandom II on Laurier. The guy there is not especially friendly but they do have a good assortment of RPGs and Games Workshop stock. They also have a lot of board games, although they were out of Kill Doctor Lucky. Too bad. I was looking forward to it.
I went recently on business trip to Ottawa and I was happy to see that one of the game stores there carried a full line of Paizo goodness: all 3 APs, modules, the campaign setting and the beta! I asked the owner and he told me that they were selling Paizo stuff in the same quantities that 4th edition. Really good...
So I was checking the most popular Google searches and I noticed that one of them was "Sandpoint". I immediately thought "Wow, Paizo and Pathfinder must be immensely popular out there". After a bit of browsing, I then realized that Sandpoint, Idaho is the hometown of none other than Sarah Palin. That was why... I just wanted to share this with everybody here. David
Hi Cosmo, guys: Order 948772 never arrived. I've been waiting for that Gazetteer since April 25th... PF#9 went out the same day and arrived in one week. Should I wait longer? Please, let me know. About 965849, if it's being held by the warmachine mini and it's going to take a while, just drop it from the order. I'm just saying this because I don't want the other PF minis to be sold out. Thanks for your support, guys! David
I believe the intention is that Paizo will only charge money for the physical book. PFRPG PDFs are going to be freely downloadable at all times. I know this doesn't answer the question about the SRD but it will definitely help searching specific rules if you or your GM play with a laptop in the table.

So this is like Spanish/Spaniard (Chelish being Spanish and Chelaxian being Spaniard). This really helps. Thanks for the clarification! David

It sounds like both adjectives work to describe people and things: "He dispatches five Chelish legionnaires" (J1, page 11)
It looks like Chelish is to be used for things and Chelaxian for people. Some authors have messed it up in the past though. Just guessing here... David
I seem to remember James mentioning specifically that they were not going to release any hardcover compilation because that would bring down the sales of the regular monthly releases. Somebody correct me if this is not correct. In any case, if I were you, I wouldn't wait for a hardcover to get RotRL... EDIT: Ok, James beat me to it... in any case, question answered :)

Hi Cosmo: PF#5 just arrived today but no sign of PF#4. Are you still on time to put a replacement copy in 6? I just got yesterday the notification that it was about to be shipped. Order # is 881518. Thanks!
