Great points, Ediwir, and thanks for the sample of a sheet all filled in. I think one of the must confusing things about any given character sheet is how no one fills them in exactly the same way.

I've modified the sheet to work in some of your ideas. It's starting to stray pretty far from the 5e version now, with fields that span 2 columns, but I think it's worth it for the attacks information.

I've moved proficiency types (U,TEML) to the proficiency "bubbles". It's not much room to write in but those bubbles are near-iconic to the 5e sheet at this point, and I felt that removing them would be detrimental to keeping the look and feel.

Overall, I think it works: it's more functional for P2 now, while still evoking heavily its 5e origin.

Same link, updated PDF.

CHANGES:
- expanded ATTACKS section to allow for damage die, damage type, etc.
- (U)TEML is now expected to be filled into the proficiency bubbles
- No more shield field, replaced with temp HP. No plans on adding shield tracking, as that can be added in Equipment manually.

Nothing's ever perfect. If Paizo waits until all errors are gone, then they'll never publish anything. I'd rather them release early, release often. As long as the errata is announced and easy to find, I'm happy to scribble in my CRB to make adjustments.

Thanks for the feedback masda_gib and 1d6 Fall Damage!

I've updated the character sheet with your ideas.

Same link, updated PDF.

CHANGES:
- Touch AC is replaced with space for shield info
- Senses slot added below Perception (Languages block is smaller as a side-effect, but I don't think that'll be an issue)
- Feats box on page1 is now a general Notes field.
- Equipment box is larger, no more AC Items (Magic Items slot is on page2)

My gaming group plays some Pathfinder, and some 5e. My players prefer the 5e character sheet. To assist ocular muscle memory in the heat of battle, I took the 5e sheets and modified them for 2e.

I kept the sheets more minimal than the 2e character sheets technically demand.
TEML is just a blank line for players to write in "T" or "E" (and so on) as applicable
Rather than cluttering it up too much, I just assume that most players will write whatever else they need in available white space. Probably not great for a new player but for someone who already "gets" character sheets and has filled out a 2e sheet once or twice, this is a pretty smooth transition.

Hiiiii. Sorry, I got the message that the event was delayed by 2 weeks so I wandered off thinking we couldn't proceed until then.

I see now that this is not correct, so I'll get my character posted soon.

This is my first PBP on Paizo forums. What table am I rolling on for day job?

1. Which VTT do you use?

MapTools. I use and recommend the one distributed without Java dependencies. It's a bigger download but it's worth avoiding confusion over Java setup.

3. What do you like most about your favorite VTT?

Self-hosted. Easy to use locally and remotely. Open source. Extensible.

4. Do you prefer VTT over traditional tabletop? Why or why not?

Not really. I use it when playing long-distance, or when I don't have physical maps and minis but I do have my computer.

5. Is Pathfinder better done over VTT?

Nah, Pathfinder is good no matter what: theater of the mind, tabletop, VTT.

6. Are their any VTTs you are thinking about trying and want more info about them?

No. I tried d20 but prefer MapTool.

7. How would you rank (between 1 and 10 with 10 the best) the VTTs you've come into contact with?

10 Maptool
5 d20

8. If you're using a VTT, what other tools do you use with it to:

a. Develop your campaign?

Emacs for text stuff.
Image Magick to scale maps down as needed.
GIMP or Krita to sketch quick maps and other resources.

b. Run your campaign?

Evince or Okular to have the PDF open (if I'm running a campaign from a PDF and not a hardcopy book).
LibreOffice to reference character sheets, as needed.

9. Are you having any trouble with recruiting?

No, but I don't really "recruit". I just ask friends if they want to play.

10. Do you prefer combat, role playing, or both?

Both.

My players love the simplicity of 5e's character sheet, so I thought it might be interesting to try to adapt the 5e character sheet to Pathfinder (1e, for now).

It works surprisingly well, and it since we play both Pathfinder and 5e, a "standardized" character sheet helps with muscle memory when searching for one number or another during a frantic combat or tense saving throw.

You can download it here → pathfinder_5e.pdf

Thanks. Thought so.

The FAQ changes the DC of some starship combat actions, but I find the notation confusing.

It's probably a dumb question, but when the FAQ says something like this:

"DC of the Piloting check equals 10 + 1-1/2 times your starship's tier"

I'm assuming it actually means:

"DC of the Piloting check = 10 + (1.5 * your starship's tier)"

Correct?

I just want to be sure before I go marking up my CRB!
