I agree that the proposal would be a positive move for the game. However, for me personally, Discord isn't going to work.

I'm happy to volunteer to bow out though. I know there were a lot of people that were excited to be part of this game during recruitment, so if any of them are open to Discord, getting a different character in here might be better for the game, and I'm perfectly content to move on with the many other games I am already in. :)

Seeing that people were ready to fight, Zyren placed the last of the deer steaks aside, cast prestidigitation to clean her hands, and then stood up with the rest of the group, moving so that she has a good line of sight to the goblin dogs.

So, should we shoot now, before they have a chance to join up with the rest of their group? Would they go away if we threw them some food?

Not trained in Knowledge Nature, so not rolling.

Sitting around the campfire, getting ready to cook some of the dinner they had brought back, Zyren notes something watching, and then catches the smell.

She remains calm but alerts the group in a conversational tone (trying not to show fear to the enemy or scare anyone):

Smell that? There are a couple of what look like really smelly, mangy dogs watching us. Not sure if they are planning to attack, or just looking for handouts from the kill, but we shouldn't expect them to be tame. Please be sure your weapons are handy in case they are needed.

She places her bow in her lap, keeping an eye on the "dogs" while she continues to finish preparing the deer steaks, setting aside the entrails and scraps in case anyone wants to try and use them to placate the smelly creatures approaching.

I think initially it was because Flori was hurt, but our Cleric might also be down on spells... not sure. I feel like it would definitely be safer to camp outside the swamp rather than in it. (My only healing spell is expended as well, but I don't think that matters too much.) We are first level, so might be best to err on the side of caution. However, definitely willing to move forward into the swamp if that is what everyone wants.

Well, looks like a good place to camp--I don't see any leopards.

She smiles at everyone, assuming they are stopping since that's what they decided earlier, but she looks around at everyone to make sure that is still the plan. She waits to see if anyone wants to discuss, and then, unless someone objects, she gets started setting up camp.

That might be best, although if Flori feels well enough, perhaps we should go back out to Lost Coast Road and camp there, starting down the Old Fish Trail tomorrow morning. The New Fish Trail seemed safe enough coming here, but we certainly don't want to run into any other dangers today.

I suppose that is fine, but I think you might have read inspire COMPETENCE instead.
This is the text of Inspire COURAGE:
"Inspire Courage (Su): A 1st level bard can use his performance to inspire courage in his allies (including himself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive the bard’s performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. At 5th level, and every six bard levels thereafter, this bonus increases by +1, to a maximum of +4 at 17th level. Inspire courage is a mind-affecting ability. inspire courage can use audible or visual components. The bard must choose which component to use when starting his performance."

Fine with fast forwarding to the morning, but also wanted to make sure that we aren't sleeping without keeping watch.

PbP does tend to drag, so things that help keep it moving are a good idea. In terms of party decisions though, I think it might be better to just have a 24-hour limit for big decisions (not including weekends), so that everyone has a chance to post.

For smaller things and personal actions, I think it is fine to move forward without everyone's input. For instance, if someone says they are searching an area or a body, we could just move forward with those results before someone else sees it... as long as we are trusting each other not to steal from the party. :) Checks for knowledge or strength can just be done by the first person who succeeds, and the only reason we would have to wait on those things is if everyone is failing and we need some extra aid another rolls to see if we can still do it.

Anyway, totally understand (especially at the beginning of an adventure) wanting to move faster, but often someone who posts later will have a great idea or remember something that we didn't, and people who don't have a say or feel included are going to drop out, which is a bigger danger in PbP than the slower pace, at least in my opinion.

I'm good with going to the trail head now, which is all we have to decide currently. After that, just worried about the fog, since it is supposed to we worst at dawn/dusk, so going in before it gets bad and camping at the shack might be better, but probably not a big deal either way.

Well, the fisherman did say that the fog was worst at dawn and dusk, so going in the morning it might be harder to see... but maybe the new fish trail is clear enough?

We should go now, and then when we get there decide depending on the conditions whether to camp at the edge or push on to see this Walthus guy before dusk. Going all the way to his place might be best, but then again, he might not have room for all of us to stay the night there.

Where can I get some bug repellant though? I don't have any of that, and the one fisherman said that we need it.

I have a light spell that can help if we have to go underground, but it only lights up about a 40 foot area, so some other help might be a good idea. I think Dom knows the same spell. It's a pretty basic one.

Zyren also noted Dargu's mention of rations. She didn't have enough money for regular rations, but she made a note to buy some wandermeal cakes on the way out of town.

If we're going underground, a rope might be useful as well. Does anyone have one? My last one got ruined, along with my armor, during the last caravan run, and I haven't had the money to replace them yet.

Average starting gold for a bard is only 105 gold. I could barely afford to buy a bow and a sword. Bards can usually get into the fray a little, but Zyren will have to stay in the back as much as possible until we get a little bit of treasure so she can buy more of the basics.

I think it is called "An Angelic Conspiracy" or something like that. I'm sure they will want an Aasimar as the lead if they can get one, but I am hoping to be able to play the demonic best friend or some other support part.

I heard there was an audition over at the Sandpoint Theatre today. Don't tell Ameiko, because she doesn't like the guy that runs it, but I think I am going to go over and try out. I love singing and telling stories here, and will continue to do so when I can, don't get me wrong, but I think I want to try doing a show over there as well.

Story-wise, I don't think she is ever going to perform in that show, so feel free to throw in as many wrenches into her plan as you like, but in this quiet morning before our larger plot begins, this is her plan.

I'm currently in the Central time zone in the United States, which is GMT -6 or -5 depending on whether Daylight Saving is in effect. Planning on moving to the Mountain time zone later this year (probably November), so that will be -7 or -6, depending.

Zyren already has several flaws written in to her backstory, but have listed them in a separate spoiler as well.

For the other players' general knowledge though, she is impulsive, impatient, and tends towards selfishness. She is trying to work on all of her flaws (actually one of the reasons that she is currently traveling with Koya), and when things are calm, she'll probably be more ideal, but when things are stressful or she isn't well-centered, she can be much more chaotic/unpredictable.

(Also, because she has been traveling with Koya she has to know Flori and Dargu on some level.)
