Fast Zombie Giant Bumblebee

Up above, the swarm of undead bees and robed skeletal kobold riders continued to fill the sky with noise and arrows.

Fast Zombie Giant Bumblebee

The runelord's aerial support didn't keep in anything resembling a formation. Grey and Simon knew better than to cluster their troops. They were wizards, after all. The small grey-robed archers strapped firmly down onto the once-bees picked their targets seemingly at random. Whatever was closest to them at the time and armed with any sort of projectile was fair game. The bees looped and buzzed about, occasionally swooping down to deliver vicious stings. It wasn't the best strategy in the world, but the confusing illusions that increased the apparent size of the swarm made it more than adequate.

Nice roll Simon!

The zomBees raise up, and then come down on the spider from above!

Either zB1, zB5, or zB6 will provoke an AoO from movement, and are currently 5 above the spider. zB3 and zB4 five foot adjustednext to the spider and 10' up, and will take a Full Attack, for 2 attacks each.

zomBees are currently flanking, and have high ground.

zB1, stinger, high ground, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

zB3, stinger 1, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 2 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

zB3, stinger 2, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 = 25
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

zB4, stinger 1, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

zB4, stinger 2, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

zB5, stinger, high ground, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

zB6, stinger, high ground, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

All hits require DC 13 Fort saves vs. 1d2 Con damage. Failure raises sequential saves by 2 and resets the sequential save counter.

and the undead wasps continued to swarm their former hive-mates

All successfully damaging hits require poison saves

zB6, sting, W10: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 1 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Attack bonus added for High Ground now that the Wasps are at the same elevation level as the PCs.

Successful damage requires a DC 13 Fort save.

Reminder: additional doses after a failed save increase the save DC by 2, so W7 has a DC of 15 if it got hit again.

Also, W7 needs to save against poison again this round (this is round 2 of 4, or until it successfully saves)

Fast Zombie Giant Bumblebee

All the ZomBees are attacking the giant bees closest to them. I've moved the one in the center of the pack, and coded the map with numbers and height indicators to make tracking damage and targeting easier. I also added an enemy damage tracker so we can tell at a glance what has been previously hurt, and how much. I'm not sure what the totals are right now. If you could add that it would be helpful.

The undead bees attack their former brethren in a flurry of angry buzzing and thrusting stingers.

zB1 Sting, W2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

zB2 Sting, W3: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

zB3 Sting, W6: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

zB4 Sting, W7: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

zB5 Sting, W10: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

zB6 Sting, W11: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Looking at the SRD entry on giant bees/wasps, it doesn't look like they are immune to their own venom, were they to attack each other. So it looks like any of the Wasps that the ZomBees damage will need to make DC 13 Fort saves. Failure = 1d2 Con damage. Save repeats for 4 rounds, or until successful.

You may wish to house rule that the bees are immune to their own venom type.

Zom-bees are actually pretty good, as far as Zombies go. They fly and have a good AC for their CR, and because their poison is a Extraordinary ability that enhances an attack, they get to keep it (though the DC does drop because Bees don't have great charisma). Also, because they can fly, they can almost always charge, which makes their "staggered" quality less impactful.

Stats are done. Anyone who wants to double check me, please do.

I just found out that Fast Zombies don't count as Double HD. They just require me to cast Haste while raising them.

I only have Haste memorized once and I'd prefer not to use another scroll. Does anyone have a Haste spell they'd be willing to donate to the cause?

Fast Zombie Giant Bumblebee

That's fine. Guess they aren't ridable by us. Bummer.

I'll add the fast zombie template and put their stats in this alias.

Fast Zombie Giant Bumblebee

They buzzed angrily, wings twitching and mandibles flaring.

Their eyes burned from within and the wounds that killed them spewed ichor until they were little more than empty, terrible husks.

Who wants a pony?
