So does that mean that Cheliax is at the gate, or the Andorans? Would it be prudent to get a look at the forces for ourselves?

Zarif nods, and once out of earshot, he adds, "That's about the whole of it. There are definitely people to watch out for, but they seem more mercenaries than loyalists. If things went badly, I have no doubts most would change their colors."

Zarif smiles at Sam's whisper and gives a slight nod of understanding. As he walks with the large Knight to join the others.

Zarif moves closer to the paladin as if trying to hear the conversation. Let it go Sam, think of the bigger picture. That's it, don't give this worm the satisfaction of getting a rise out you.

There may be a...problem, that I can see. I fear I'm not very accomplished at...well, at telling a lie. This falsehood has me bothered, though I understand that it's necessary. I fear that one who doubts us could see through me. Have you a practiced tongue at such things, Zarif?

Any good story is full of, shall we say, embellishments. While not, prone to outright dishonesty, I don't see a problem with a fib or false assumption here or there as long as it promotes the greater good.

When the caravan approaches the gate, Zarif does his best to look "guard like" maintaining a friendly smile, but keeping his mouth shut if not asked a direct question.

Sorry for the silence, things went horribly wrong at work, got called out. Had no idea when I left I'd be time traveling back to the 19th century. Back in the 21st century now, things should be back to normal.

As far as buffs, I'll open up with Mage Armor on myself. I don't need Bull's Strength.

Zarif rode along side the wagon for as much of the trip as he was able telling tales of daring from his homeland to whoever would listen.

When coming up to the encampment, he draws closer. "Have we come up with any plans to accomplish our tasks?"

"Yes, I don't think we'll have trouble getting in, there should be nothing to tip off the townies, assuming no one else knows of our plan here? he asks looking at the General.

"Not completely safe, but a good start. I am rather familiar with the mystic arts. One of my many talents." he says with a sly smile and a wink to Iridae.

I-I- I mean you-you speak Celestial? H-how? W-who t-taught you? She examines the newcomer discreetly.Strange, he moves like a warrior, and yet he has a strong smell of magic. She makes a quick gesture in his direction...

The newcomer smiles showing his perfect teeth, "A friend," he replies cryptically as he absently pats the scimitar at his side.

"and you'll want to be cautious, there are some who would take offense at being the subject of a divination," then with a wink and a sly smile he adds, "Of course I am never one to be offended when such a lovely lady wishes for a closer look. Ah what an oaf, I have embarrassed you. I must again apologize, too long in the field I fear have blunted my manners."

I have no idea, though I can only imagine it's a mission of no minor importance, with those gathered. We've a rather capable force here.

Zarif turns serious at the knight's words, he looks around at the assmebled group, "It seems an odd mix, but definately not lacking in power or skills."

I've sort of taken liberties with my sword, I realize technically it's an NPC, but I thought I could add more flavor if I use it. If the DM has issues with that, I will refrain in the future.

Having lost the large knight in the shuffle towards the command tent, Zarif finds him again, and makes his way towards paladin. Zarif waits politely for a pause in the conversation. He address the tall knight, who he's seen around the barracks from time to time, but Zarif, always more of a scout and skirmisher than a front line fighter rarely had to cross paths with the man. The men seem to be fond of him, and that alone was telling. "Any idea what this is all about?" he asks, then turns to the ladies present and smiles warmly, bows and says

I've put a link to an online sheet in my profile. It's not completely done, I still need my more mundane gear, pick traits, spells and figure out my spellbook, but the majority is there.

While in the assembly area a young, dark complected man with a light step and ready smile moves easily through the crowd. His long hair tied back loosely around the top to keep it out of his handsome face. In stark contrast to the Knight of Iomedae, he wears little in the way of protection beyond a silk shirt and loose trousers. A scimitar rests comfortably at his side the leather around the grip worn from obvious use. Across his back is a horn shortbow, the type favored by mounted archers.

The knight's stern look does little to dissuade the young man, and in fact he seems to take it as a challenge. He's about to begin what will assuredly be an annoying conversation to the more serious minded, when the group is called to the command tent.

Zarif is a "Dashing rogue" type, and certianly fits, but I'm not sure he'd going looking for trouble like that... Unless of course his Black Blade had designs on sending him to your character.

So I could see Zarif doing it, so it's up to you, if you want him or other volounteers

How are we doing hit points? Just in case we roll them (and because I want to try the die roller) I'll roll them here.
