I'll stand and move back to give 'Toff Room

Zarak briefly rubs his aching skull, when he notices the old man holding the unloaded crossbow. He quickly levels his crossbow, but notices the dangling man.

He fires a bolt at the old man's leg.

"Let's get this ove quick", Zarak follows in crossbow at the ready.

Following dunzeltoff's lead, Brujo reloads his crossbow and follows close behind.

"Lets clear out the upper rooms. After that we're sure this place is clear we can contimue down." Casting a caring look at the kids.

"But what do we do with the kids while we're sweeping up?" He looks a to Dunzeltoff. "Do you kids have a place you can hide till we come back?"

If the half-orc is down I'll take the round to reload my crossbow, and see what the figure does. If the half-orc isn't down Attack 1d20+2=22...CRIT!; Confirm 1d20+2=11...not so good; Damage 1d4+1=4...if by luck i did confirm 8

"Looks like we have one left" Zarak peers at the unarmed stranger.

"AH, BY THE GODS", Zarak shrieks as the acid begins to eat into him. Moving into the room, he aims his shot and launches a bolt in retaliation for the acid blob.

Move to H9; Attack 1d20+5=19; Damage 1d10=9.

Perception 1d20+6=19

He drops the crossbow and raises a gauntleted hand. "Dunzeltoff are the children okay", he asks with a grimace of pain on his face.

Finally loading his crossbow, Zarak moves to cover 'Toff.

If the dog is dead Perception 1d20+6=20 to see if else has noticed the fight and is on there way.

If the dog's not dead. Zarack moves to the closest place to fire from and Attack 1d20+3=18; Damage 1d10=6.

"Are the children okay" Zarak looks with concern.

"Gods be damned," Zarack curses to himself as he quickly tries to reload him bow

Zarak readies his crosbbow incase Dunzeltoff's plan fails.

If he fails handling the dog, Attack 1d20+3=13; Damage 1d10+1=8

"I'd perfer not to wake the children, or alert the dog" Zarack ponders the options. "Let's try the stairway"

Zarack tightens a gauntled fist.

After the I'm on board i'll use inertial armor. Go ahead and use your touch of luck. I think I'm good as is.

"Sure is quiet", Zarak checks his surroundings. "You'd think there's be a bit more noise, despit the hour."

As the two reach the ships deack,Zarak begins to pull the ladder up.

He carefully looks around the checking for any movement, and looking for any loose rope.

Perception 1d20+6=26;Stealth 120=3=10

"Where to know my friend", he whispers to Dunzeltoff.

Making his way behind Dunzeltoff, Zarak is just happy to be getting away from the boat.

"Are you OK? We're all clear on the plan right?"

"Ya, let's just be quick. Being on the water is making a ill." Zarak answers his face turning pale. "Shark doesn't help matters either..."

"Well hopefully it's not hungry"

Nothing I can think of.

"I've got a bad feeling", Zarak whispers to Dunzeltoff. "I could've sworn I just saw something moving in the water."

I'm sure this won't help, but Perception 1d20+2=5...cries...

The plan is fine with me. I have no rope though. But being where we are it shouldn't be hard, Ihope, to find some.

Quickly checking his equipment he nods to the dwarf, "Shall we begin"

Personally I'm all for bypassing any guard. Why fight when you don't have to. But if you feel it would be better to eliminate any surrounding threats, then I've got your back.

I'll let you handle where we tie off at. But I'd perfer the option that doesn't have us as pin cushions.

I'm still for using the rope route. As for the entry point I say we try to slip in the side.

I agree that the arson could/is a bad idea. But it radiates coolness(is kinda firebug anyway)!

Anyway maybe we should reconsider the fire. Going back to jail, and the possibility death isn't high on my characters list.

I say we try for the oil flasks. At best we get them, worse we either wait or the stores to open or take the ladder approach.

Dunzeltoff Haelcannon wrote:

OK, my idea was that we should bring a tall ladder so we could get up to a higher level direct from the boat if we want (better than messing with a grappling hook & rope). It sounded like the barge was moored on one side (or the end?) of the warehouse, with people milling around it last we saw... Maybe a ROUGH map would give us the best idea of this, Lilith?

I want to hear what Z says, but I'm thinking we could approach unseen, and come up to the Barge. We may have to deal with a guard or two (probably not as many people, in the dark & fog), but we deal them if they're there, and then we can cut the ropes to the barge, and set it drifting, which could be a distraction (maybe even toss a flaming oil flask onto the barge as we push it off).

Then we jump back in our boat, between the piers under the warehouse (or just row around - but anyone who comes wouldn't be looking under the pier) and tie off on the other side, climbing up our ladder to look in the lit windows, while hopefully there's some sort of distraction with the barge threatening to float away, pulling guards away from their normal stations. Our retreat option is climbing/jumping down to the boat, and rowing away, either across the bay or just into another warehouse/pier.

They'll know someone's doing something, but we can point the attention in the wrong way, to the barge... We COULD just skip the barge distraction part, and take the ladder straight to the windows... or... Z?

Personally I'm a big fan of just sneaking in through window, but your option of setting the barge on fire as a distraction brings a smile to my face.

My vote goes to barge fire. Now do the qustion is do you have any oil flasks handy?

"Well if you think using a boat, and waiting for the fog to roll in is a good I'm for that. As long as we get a hold of Lamm I could care less on our entry plans."

Finishing atleast some of his meal, Zarak sits looking at ceiling. "So depending on which plan we choose, do we start tonight"

Dunzeltoff Haelcannon wrote:

OK, both Gev and Zarak were wanting to play some deceptive role,

so if we are to go that route, we should sort out who's doing what.

That plan sounded like it was based on the street side of things, if we wanted to go in/under via a rowboat it might not apply, though we could figure out some variant if we wanted...
(We could find a fisherman at a pub who would rent us his dinghy (accompanied or not) so he wouldn't have to fish off his hangover. or if Gev has some role in the Guard, could you get a Guard port patrol dinghy that we conviently ride along in?)
This must be a strange dwarf that's so interested in a boat approach. :-)

I've said enough, so whatever you two decide on, I'll play along...

Hmm, the dingy is good idea too. If we can manage it we can give ago. I'll wait for Gev to see what we decide on.

Dunzeltoff Haelcannon wrote:

That might be a good idea, maybe play someone stumbling home from a bar, piss-drunk... But we would need a plan how to respond if they are violent, since they could viciously attack a barely-conscious drunk even if not threatened...

Well I'm willing to play the fool in this plan. I think I can handle myself if something were to happen. But if it were to get out of control, you all couldd be in hiding somewhere close.

“Wait just a second,” says Gevtodt. “I don’t know the area at all. Let’s agree on a meeting place we can all easily find. And before you go I would like to propose a basic outline of a plan. Three drunk friends finding their way home followed by one unseen.”

With that Gevtodt is ready for action.

Taking his seat again. His attention on Gevtodt.

"3, huh. That's fine." Talam nods to the group and stands. "If you'll excuse me I need to settle some things at home. After that I'll meet you all at the Docks."

If nothing else need to said I'll have him head home to pickup the rest of his gear.

"Starting tonight would be good", Zarack nods his head while still looking at the huge amount food on his plate. "We'll be able to take note of any patterns we see."

"Even if we could make him sign a statement of admission that doesn't mean he'll stay behind bars. He could easily say it was coerced, and be set free cause of it. And as you stated, Dunzeltoff, he may have people inside the guard. So even if the guard does accept the statement, his escape is certain.", Zarak leans back in his seat and stares at the ceiling.

"The children may not be of help either. Many may be afraid of Lamm and his ability to harm them, even in jail", he tilts his head forward. His normally bright emerald eyes seem dark and sullen.

"Would it not be better to just take the act of justice into our own hands. We are dealing with an man who has now qualms about who he hurts or kills. A man who for all we know may be back one the street the next day, and he'll be hunting us then..." Zarak seems to catch himself before he can continue on any more.

"I apologize. After spending so much in time jail 'cause of that man, and being this close to finding him I let my emotions get the best of me there."

Zarak readjusts himself in his chair and looks on a the others, "I think we should move on the warehouse. Hard and fast. If there are any children present we make sure they're safe and out of harms way. After that we take care of Lamm, and look for any evidence we need."

"Their movements are beautiful. I wonder how many years they trained to do such a thing." Zarak watches the dancers as Dunzeltoff points out the performance.

As the platter of food arrives Zarak looks at in shock and awe. "So much food", he thinks to himself. He slowly picks at large plate of food, not remembering the last time he saw or ate such a huge amount of food.

Dunzeltoff Haelcannon wrote:

"To unexpected allies! To the brave hearted! To just desserts! To...?"

"To the past! May we remember and learn from it", a sorrowful look crosses Zaraks face. "To the future. May she hold justice, luck and joy for us all", as he drinks his he tries to remember the last time he sat with a group of people for any reason, and for theat matter the last time he drank anything of this sort.

Zarak takes a deep breath. He never thought he's meet this many people with a grude against Lamm. Nor did he would be this close to finding the man responsible for his incarceration. "I wonder just how many people this man has wronged", he asks to himself.

He follows the others hoping to learn more about them, and how they plan to get to Lamm.

"Not to be rude, but where are we going with this", frustaration building in the elan's voice. "I apologize for my rudeness, but how is this helping to find Lamm. We have no idea were his or how to find him. And even if we do, what can we do that no one else has."

After venting Zarak looks around the room feeling somewhat ashamed of his outburst.

Hi all, looking forward to this.

Ok I think I got everything fixed. I switched the exotic feats for Heavy Blades and Clawed Weapons. I also changed a few things to fit with Alpha(Added CMB, Perception).

Also took out my Kusari-gama and replaced witha spiked gauntlet.

Ok I think I've done as much as I can.

It hasn't been too long since I made a home here in Korvosa. So far everythings been going well. I've got a part time job working at the docks, and have found a nice place to live in the Shingles.

The only trouble I've run into was done by merciless way. While out exploring the city I ran into a few thugs beating on some poor child. I was a able to drive them away, but not without threats about "Tellin' da Boss".

The child was pretty beaten so I brought him hime for a warm meal. Poor kid, life really seems to have tossed him raw deal. I asked him what his name and got no reply. Does he even have one? He left not to long after that said his family would start to worry. He said thank you and left.

4706, Sarenith, 30
How horrible. I found out today the kid that was here a few days ago, turned up dead. The guard found him more or less pieces. The people say it looks like a shark or something else got a hold of him. Poor kid

I can't believe this. Today while walking down Wave Street I was stopped by the Guard. They said I'm wanted for arson and the death of Fredrick Shaleif and his wife. What in the Nine Hells is going on! They were atleast kind of enough to let me hold on to my journal.

Well I just talked with Field Marshall Kroft. From what she told me, residents in the area saw me enter the Shaleifs home. After about ten minutes they heard a scream, and saw the first sign of the fire.

4707, Abadius, 08
Well this isn't good. Not good at all. I haven't heard anything from the Field Marshall for two days. This is really getting to me, could I have really set the fire? I mean I guess it could make since. I don't really know myself that well. I came here looking for clues to who I am, and instead I'm sitting in this cell.

Well after a month in that cell I'm a free man. All my alibias checked out, and the witness that saw me turned out be a liar. Why would someone try to frame me for murder? Is this someone I used to know? Well I can't ask them anyway. Turns out the witness was found hung is there home yesterday.

4707, Calistril, 18
Well it's taken a few days and I think I've found the person behind all this. After asking around town one name kept popping up, Gaedren Lamm. Why would he do it? Have wronged him some how?

Updated the background a bit. I'll try to have the rest done tonight.

I was thinking about going with the Framed trait. Since the +2 Spellcraft check doesn't fit, and Psicraft isn't a skill would it be possible to get the +2 to another class skill?
