I've acquired a abjuration version of this cloak, at some point i'd like to change this into one for my specialist school. is anyone aware of any guidance as to the cost of this transformation?

there are other situations where this type of thing might apply i.e. a belt of Physical Might being passed from the front line fighter to a wizard would benefit from being remade in a similar manner

Thanks for the information. Does this mean that there is no need for caster level checks or are there?

If yes: Caster level vs. what?
Yes, a caster level check is required, most likely versus Hit Dice of the creature.
DC 8 then?
If I'm right, you would use the Hit Dice of the gorgon as the caster level of the effect, so the DC would be 11 + 8 = 19.
19 sounds right to me.

so if a 16 hit dice carnivorous crystal (bestiary 3 pg 45) hits a victim who then fails 3 saves and petrifies, the DC to be met by the cleric casting break enchantment would be 27?

is there any other way to restore the unfortunate victim?

2 ideas which may be combined to some extent.

1, wizard creates blessed book and copies his spell book into it, its then worth the cost of making it plus half the value of the spells written into it

2, arcane caster with fabricate gets mithril/ adamantine, and creates full plate armour

i too am lazy, i've handed the npc's out to act as cohorts for the players to stat up as we go along.

doesn't the caster level have to be enough to cast the spell?

I changed the thug ambush to a ninja ambush, on a whim since the players said we expect this when approaching the temple to reunite with the guides companion...

very bad move lost 2 characters and should have lost a 3rd (ninja moved away from just downed character rather then making sure of the kill)

should not have listened to the players paranoia and then played on it,

i'm surprised about how little xp the pc's have admittedly i'm running for 6 people but no one is 5th level yet and they are heading to ravenscrag

Anyone got suggestions for story xp which is easy to miss?

any ideas on how i should run this would be much apprciated

My Players have dillied and dallied in game and it's now 3 in the morning and they are walking up to the front door of asvig's farm, expecting to have to kick open the door and face a fight, with the alert guards and as they wake up the party goers (whats a large party 24 more party animals(so 40 ordinary ulfen warriors plus asvig and wife)

now sometimes when i've drunk alot i wake up and need to be sick (nauseated) , sometimes i can function (sickened) and sometimes i'm as fit as a fiddle, so whats the fort save to avoid being sickedned for a viking who probably drinks more than i can?, or to avoid being nauseated, should these be on 1 roll or should it be 2 rolls, ie 19+ fine 12+ sickened and 11 or under nauseated, or 2 dc 15 rolls pass 2 fine pass 1 sickened fail both nauseated?

now given normal sleeping and perception checks, battle is dc0 sleeping imposes a dc 10 penalty, and by convention giving someone a kick to give them a +10 modifiyer is a free action once per round (ie you can only try and wake one person but your not subtle about it) if the sleeper is sickened then the dc will mean this is not automatic so do i need to check for each warrior in the farm (before the session)?

now i could just say well the vikings are all too drunk to do anything (boring and no challenge therefore no combat xp(maybe some story xp)

i could say those on watch have seen you and started to wake their fellows (and see how many of their fellows are affected by drink as per the above)

asvig will be woken by a guard when the door is opened and i'm thinking will have a chain shirt (light armour as opposed to medium) for bed time (after all no land is entirly safe) and a potion of sheild cl10) for combat purposes

any advice / suggestions for this welcome

my players (all 7) considered assulting a castle and decided that would be too difficult, and they rolled very well and tracked kelda to the area of the secret entrance then found the entrance that leads to the boss...

in a tense fight (both primary melee combatants went down) everyone had taken at least half damage and the clerics were out of channeled healing they actully defeated the creature, thanks in no small part to a musket master, they then rested hideing on the ledge beneath the secret door to the prison

i've therefore had to change the whole creature posistioning due to them being focused on defending the dungeon rather than the surface, all the trogs attacked a 4 rounds after the first gunshot went off in the kitchen (at the laundry fungus) were again defeated, but the pc's had to rehide to rest, and their intrusion was discovered overnight

after a small ambush i had kikonu invite the pc's to watch his masterpeice, they discussed it then had a vote about what to do. kikonu forced the issue at the end of that round by attacking from range (no one was surprised given the vote being held), the pc's removed half his hp before he gracefully steped back to avoid provoking an aoo and dimension doored up stairs,

i need to consider the rest of the castle, the haunts and clues must remain however the courtyard will be no challenge as written so i'm thinking on the alternatives

yes, you start in varisia and travel north through the lands of the linorm kings then travel across the polar cap, after that your in "asia"

varisia is one book, linnorm kings is the second, and the trip across the ice is the 3rd

yep did this for my pc's at random yesterday since there was no guideance that i could see in a reasonable time

Ameiko 18 Pharast

Shalelu 11 Gozran

Sandru 29 Arodus

Koya 27 Kuthona

means the first birthday in the campaign will be Sandru about 3 months in since i beleive we start in Sarenith (if there is a diffrent date set please let me know so i have minimal ret coning to do)
