I've been debating with my GM about the rules of animal companions and I wanted to get outside/fresh opinions. (this is for a PFS game) So the first one is the nature of animal companions and their feats. Hunters gain Outflank as a class feature and automatically share it with their AnC. I argue that since a feat would likely indicate time invested in training an AnC would know how to flank naturally without having to teach them the flank trick. GM says no. Second is about AnC and their ability to understand speech after they get 3 INT and get a rank in linguistics. Since they can now understand a full language does that eliminate the need for most tricks in the game? I.E. it knows and can understand the word "flank" that would seemingly eliminate the need for the trick flank.
Oh, for sure. I run with (more or less) the same group every week and we all know what we do, when others come in i either tone it down or select another character depending on the circumstances. Per earning off PCs I must say Im a but sad bit it was also fully expected. The diplo check was to just add a small amount of fun to it cause just saying yay or nah didnt seem like fun so i wanted to do something different with it. I might end up and likely will chance it but i wanna figure out something to replace it first. overall it was meant for flavor rather than any actual mechanic. 4th: thank you for the good answer its really helpful and good answer. And I will. thank you.
So I got bored and decided to make a escort-ish type of character in PFS, who, if other PCs roll a high enough diplo check, might provide her services for a small fee. this raises a 2 part question: 1. Am i allowed to provide those kind of services to other PCs for a fee
I realize this is an odd question but id rather ask now then be blindsided later lol
What does he mean by rule niches? I have a better understanding of what they did to make them and how they went about it, but it doesn't mention anything about the alternate class features and feats. I actually found something after I posted this (go figure huh?) " A character who takes an alternate class feature does not count as having the class feature that was replaced when meeting any requirements or prerequisites." So that would make me feel like they DONT get any bonuses from things like the elven favored class or feats like extra rouge talent, but alternate classes also seem to have different rules about them so it makes me double guess myself. I they dont get special feats or exceptions so they can take class based feats (i.e. extra rouge talent) this raises the question of balance to me. it makes it seem like the alternate classes would be at a large feat disadvantage if this is true. Can someone confirm or deny my guess? (again looking for PFS rules/rulings here if possible please and thank you)
I'm sure this has been asked somewhere, but my google-fu is too weak to find the right combo of words to find the thread. So basically I'm trying to make a elf ninja and the favored class section caught my eye, but it ONLY mentions rogue talents so since ninja is a archetype/variant of rogue does this apply in anyway to ninja tricks? (this also goes hand-in-hand with the extra ninja talent feat. This is for a character that is registered with the PFS so I do need a official ruling on this if possible. Reference: ARG page 23
